Configuring 3CXPhone for Windows
The easiest way to configure 3CXPhone is by using Plug and Play provisioning. Alternatively you can configure the phone manually:
Step 1: When you start the 3CXPhone for the first time, you will see a message asking you whether you would like to use “Auto provisioning” or “Create Profile” configuration methods.

In this case we will select “Create Profile” to manually create an account. The Accounts main display will show up. Click on New to create a new profile.

Step 2: Enter an account name example MyOffice. Fill in Caller ID Information in the Caller ID Field. This will be the CID information that the phone will send on each call.
Step 3: Enter your extension number and your extension SIP credentials (Authentication ID and Authentication Password).
Step 4: Specify whether this connection is in the office (SIP server is on the same LAN) or outside of the office (You are outside the LAN). If you are in the office, specify the local IP of the SIP server. If outside the office, enter the public IP of the SIP server.
TIP: You can easily toggle between In Office and Out of office profiles using the icon located in the bottom left corner of the 3CXPhone display.
The Office icon will use the “I am in the office” local IP to connect to the 3CX Phone System. The Home icon will dynamically load the “I am out of the office – external IP” address which will assume that you are at home or out of the office and the IP PBX is now a remote location for you.
Step 6: Click OK to create the connection. Once you have logged in successfully, your extension number will be shown at the top on the right hand side.
