Patton FXS gateways can be used with 3CX Phone System. However the templates are created, tested AND SUPPORTED by Patton. For any questions you must contact Patton Support.

To configure 3CX PhoneSystem for interaction with your Patton FXS Gateway:

  • Go to "Add PSTN Gateway".
  • In the "Add Gateway Wizard" screen:
    • Set the "Name" field to a name for the device, such as "PattonFXS1".
    • Set the "Brand" field to "Patton".
    • Set the "Model" field to match the model number of the Patton FXS device you are configuring, such as "SN-4112 Analog 1xETH 2xFXS".
    • Click the "Next" button.
  • In the "Edit PSTN Gateway" screen:
    • Set the "Default Router IP Address" to the IP Address of the Router device which acts as your WAN-to-LAN device.
    • Set the "Primary DNS Server IP Address" to the IP Address of the DNS Server inside your LAN. Typically this could be your Domain Controller machine.
    • Set the "Country" field to the country you are in. This will set the tone sets on the device to allow it to better recognise calls being disconnected.
    • Set the "Digit Collection Timeout" to "2 seconds". This is normally adequate, and should not be changed unless you have a specific need to do so.
    • Click the "Next" button.
  • In the "Specify VoIP Gateway" screen:
    • Set the "Gateway Hostname or IP" field to the IP Address which the Patton Gateway will have after you complete the configuration.
    • Set the "Gateway Port" field to 5060. There is normally no need to change this value.
    • Click the "Next" button.
  • In the "Set Gateway Extensions" page, you will be presented with a grid, with each line representing one of the FXS ports.
    • For each line, select from the dropdown list the extension number which will be assigned to that FXS port.
    • Click the "Next" button.
  • In the "Gateway Created" screen:
    • Click the "Generate config file" button.
    • Enter the correct Subnet Mask value in the dialog.
    • Click the "OK" button.
  • The 3CX Management Console will now open a dialog for you to save the Configuration File for your device. Select a location and save it.
  • All that remains to be done is to import the configuration file into your Patton device. For instructions on how to do this, go to: https://www.3cx.com/blog/voip-howto/patton-smartnode-configuration/
