How do I configure Tonesets for my Country on a Grandstream GXW-4104 / GXW-4108?

Submitted by on March 3, 2010 – 6:58 pm2 Comments

NOTE: This device has been tested for Fax Calls and Voice Calls using firmware 1.2.1.5. Grandstream firmware versions are typically available from: http://www.grandstream.com/firmware.html.

Depending on your geographic location and telecommunications provider, it may be necessary to update your Grandstream tone sets to reflect your location, or the specific requirements of your Telecommunications Provider.

Configuring the Tone Set data in the Grandstream

  • Load the Grandstream web interface in a browser
  • Click on the ‘Channels’ node.

Within the section named ‘Call Progress Tones’ you will need to update 4 fields with the data specific to your country. The major country values are listed in a table at the end of this document. The fields which must be updated are:

  1. Dial Tone
  2. Ringback Tone
  3. Busy Tone
  4. Reorder Tone

Once you have updated all fields, click on the ‘Update’ button, followed by the ‘Reboot’ button.

You can download the Country Tone Set Values from here which will give the tone set information you will need to input in the Grandstream gateway depending on the country you are located in.
