New 3CX Phone System Version 8 build

By November 12, 2009 | 6 Comments

We have released a new build of version 8 of 3CX Phone System. This update  includes substantial performance improvements to the Call assistant client and VoIP phone integration. It also includes an improved tunnel which is able to save up to 50% of bandwidth used for remote extensions and bridges.

Note: This latest build includes several improvements and optimizations to 3CX PhoneSystem Version 8.9909 which however render the previous builds of the 3CX Assistant incompatible. You MUST ensure that all users upgrade to 3CX Assistant Version 8.9924 to avoid service interruptions with 3CX PhoneSystem Version 8.9909.

Latest version is 9908. Typo – don’t worry.

At Clarity Systems Consulting Group, Inc., we updated our own 3CX PBX with the new build and instantly observed a marked improvement in call processing; our 3CX Assistant is more robust including the date stamp feature, faster loading, and the utilization of less local resources to achieve the intended purpose. Now when one of our staff is on the phone, the receptionist, or any of us, can send a chat (IM) to the user of a busy extension announcing the call visually without using third party software or an internet based service. The new Cisco provisioning templates are an added benefit to this build. When a client wants to go Cisco, we can now suggest that they go with the Cisco product behind a 3CX PBX and save them lots of money. Personally, I am trying a Cisco 525G and the phone is working great with 3CX. Keep up the good work at 3CX, we are looking forward to the next build!

Thank you for your comments Bruce – we invested a lot of work in the Call assistant to make it perform in the manner it is now and it is nice to hear positive feedback.

We have also implemented updating. So when we have a fix to provide to the 3CX Community, you do not need to uninstall the call assistant clients on your network and install the latest installer on all machines again. All that needs to be done is for the 3CX Admin to download the updates through system updates in the management console and inform the employees to click on Help, Check for updates. The assistant client will download the updates locally and restart automatically for the new updates to come into effect. This is a great mass deployment advantage for 3CX Admins.

    Keep posting feedback.

    Thanks

It seems that the latest 3cx assistant are still not fully support chinese. no chinese available in installation progress. and however in advance tab there’s chinese language options. but it’s bad code, just like some other languages.

Hi Robin, 3CX Assistant can show Simplified Chinese. Maybe just one word “中文” doesn’t show correctly.
