Make Calls Using your Desk Phone

One of the basic things that you would want to do is make calls using your desk phone. This guide shows you how to make calls using the 3CX supported IP desk phones, snom, Yealink and Cisco.

snom

The following information provides the various ways to make a call using a snom IP phone. Check out

  • Dial the number on the keypad and pick up the handset.
  • Dial a number on the dial pad and press the  Button-Check-128 button on the snom phone to make your call.
  • Pick up the handset, dial a number and press the Button-Check-128 button on the snom phone to make your call.
  • Press the line button, dial a number using the dial pad and press the Button-Check-128 button on the handset.
  • Dial a number on the dial pad and then press the “Speaker” button
  • Press the “Speaker” button, dial a number using the dial pad and press the “Speaker” button again.
  • Press the “Speaker” button, dial a number using the dial pad press the Button-Check-128 button on the snom phone to make your call.
  • Press the “Phonebook” button find the contact that you want to dial and press the  Button-Check-128 button on the snom phone to dial your phonebook contact.
  • Press the “History button” find the call that you want to dial back and press the  Button-Check-128 button on the snom phone to call back your history entry.

Yealink

The following information illustrates how you can make a call using a Yealink phone.

  • Pick up the handset and enter the number using the dial pad, then select the “OK” button or “Send” soft key
  • Pick up the handset and enter the number using the dial pad, then press “#” to make your call
  • Dial the number using the dial pad and hit the speaker  button to make the call
  • Hit the speaker button dial a number and press “#” to make your call
  • Dial a number from the key pad and press “#” to make your call
  • If you are using a headset, press the “headset” button. Enter the number using the dial pad and press the “OK” button to send the call

Cisco

The following information illustrates the various ways available to make a call using a Cisco phone.

  • Pick up the handset and use the dial pad to enter the number you want to dial. Hit the ‘Dial’ soft key.
  • Hit a line button and enter the number using the dial pad and hit the ‘Dial’ soft key.
  • Hit the “New Call” soft key and enter the number using the dial pad.
  • Hit the “Redial” soft key, select the number you want to redial and hit the ‘Dial’ soft key.
  • Hit the “Speaker” button and enter the number using the dial pad and hit the ‘Dial’ soft key.

Both the Polycom and Grandstreams desk phones are not recommended for use with 3CX Phone System

Polycom

The following information illustrates how you can make a call using a Polycom SoundPoint IP 320, 321, 330, 331, 450, 550, 560, 650, 670 phones.

  • Pick up the handset and use the dial pad to enter the digits followed by hitting the ‘Dial’ button.
  • Hit a line button and dial the desired number using the dial pad and then hit ‘Dial’.
  • With the headset connected, hit the “headset” button and dial the desired number using the dial pad. Press the Dial button to send then send the call.

Alternatively if using Polycom SoundStation IP 6000 and 7000 phones:

  • Hit the “New Call” soft key and use the dial pad to enter the number
  • Press the Call button button and use the dial pad to enter the number to be dialed
  • Press the Scroll up button, scroll to the contact and press the “Dial” soft key to redial a number
