A New 3CXPhone for Windows Update is Coming Soon!

The new 3CXPhone shipped with version 12 has been a major step forward. Its seamless support for Android phones, tablets, iPads, iPhones and of course Windows desktops as well as its integrated softphone with PUSH support has set new standards of mobility in the PBX industry. And CTI integration with leading IP Phones means great productivity gains. At the same time, it presented a major architectural change that required us to redevelop many features, some of which did not make it into the first 3CX Phone System v12 release.

We shipped many features in Service Pack 1 and Service Pack 2, but following feedback from our valued customers and partners, we started to work around the clock to launch Service Pack 3 and include as many of the features requested that we could. Service Pack 3 for 3CX Phone System should be out by the end of  November and will include the following features:

YES! I see a fix for 3CXPhone when used over VPN. The major issue at our company, a combination of the new phone in combination with a Cisco VPN (for our homeworkers) and as a result an one-way audio problem. Fingers crossed!

Thanks! That’s a very good explanation and definitely shows “the other side of the coin”. I wish 3CX would explain it like that. I can see now that the issue is that Jabra don’t want to include 3CX in the suite by default (I assume they want more fees). But it’s not easy to see that at first.

My concern still remains that if you have a small business (1 – 20) users, you cannot use any headset with 3CX and have the full functionality of the headset. The only way to do this is to buy the more expensive system. From a customer/end user point of view (who doesn’t see it as Jabra making more money) it seems unfair on the part of 3CX.

3CX have also recommended still using 3CXPhone v6, but does that mean then that customers can’t have v12? Or if they have v12, they can’t have the full features just so they can use a headset with call pickup?

Up until now, Plantronics was not an option either.

So let me ask you this, if you can’t/won’t use Jabra, and Plantronics requires Pro, what would you recommend to a small business?

@3CX, please feel free to give Jesper my direct email so we can continue discussion offline if preferred.

    • @ Mahomed: We have decided to include Jabra and soon Plantronics headset support in the STD edition as well. SP3 will not require the PRO edition.

Will the new 3CX Phone have the video option back? My customer likes the web cam ability in 3CX Phone 6 but also like the Presence and chat in latest version.

Any updates with the iPhone/iPad softphones? Customer is not liking the “missing calls” because the phone is locked and can’t get to it fast enough.

And just to confirm that the ability to record an alternative message will be included in the next service pack? I believe I saw an earlier post mentioned that if you set yourself to away, it will play a different message than your normal recorded one.

    You are welcome :-)
I think that Nick´s last answer close the “case”.
But to a customer who do not have the extra €140 for a PRO version, we could recoment a Cheap USB Headset. To be honnest, most customers get more value for there monney if they spent the extra €140 on the PRO Phonesystem, compared to spent €330 for one Jabra 9470 headset, or?
You can have USB Headsets for as low as €37.
We (partners), my self included, might should be better to explain the value to our customers, rather than selling 3CX based on its price, just a thought:-)

hi!! i’ve been experiencing trouble with the call recipient not hearing me. I can hear them but they can’t hear me. I’m using Phillips headset now. Does 3CX support it?

    November 28, 2013 at 2:54 pm
    • @saharra – then the you have to check the driver of the philips headset in windows and contact philips support. 3CX supports all headsets bluetooth or usb via the windows drivers. The only extra thing we do for jabra is to support the answer button. But if you dont need that you can save yourself the 300 euro Jabra Rip Off and use any Headset with windows drivers.
