3CX V125 is a very promissing version with nice features.

I would like to ask if there is a workaround project for this.

    1.) I Got a VoIp Phone ” e.g. Cisco SPA 504G “.
2.) I am using 3CX Phone for Windows in CTI Mode.
3.) I also have Web Camera Installed and Headset for PC.

    Here comes the Test.
A.)3CX Phone Mode. I am able to speak from PC Headset and use Video.
B.)CTI Mode. I am able to speak from my Voip Phone but Video Option is not available.

I am asking for the ability to answer the WebRtC Call from your Voip Phone and share Your Screen or Web Camera from your PC in CTI Mode.

If this scenario is possible then internal, external, Webmeeting and click to call, calls in a new version may use audio (Voip Phone) and Video (Windows CTI Mode) using the WebCamera of the PC to see each other in CTI MODE, Share screen and Files, use the Keyboard to Chat and a Hardware Voip Phone to talk. An all in one Function for any type of call (Talk/See/Chat/Share)

    • @Ioannis – Interesting comment. The only solution is to use 3CXPhone in SIP Mode because Cisco SPA Phones do not support 3CX CTI and therefore the CTI implementation that works between 3CX Phone and Cisco is the basic “MakeCall” function. The SDP of the makecall extension inside 3CX does not support video.

Your only solution is to use 3CXPhone in sip Phone mode. There is no other way.

Anyone else having trouble on 12.5 saving VoIP/PSTN Gateways? After I get the config file and close out, it doesn’t show up in the list.

    January 22, 2015 at 10:58 pm
    • Hello Eric, I guess you create an FXS gateway.
This is normal, as fxs gateway are not an inbound gateway as such from the pstn network.
You just generate the config from the PSTN gateway section and once uploaded into the device you see the fxs pots as phones (extensions) in your mng console.

I don’t see this update on the phone system, will it show up there like the rest do at some point? Or should I just download it from the link on here..

    • Hello victor, V12.5 is a new version and you can not update from withing the pbx to this version. You need to take a backup of your current V12 system, uninstall the running pbx, install the new v12.5 and restore the backup. Depending on the size of your installation the hole process varies in time. Your 3CXPhone clients will update to the latest version automatically. It is recommended for a faster update to keep the HTTP and HTTPs ports as they are in your v12 installation, so 5000 for http and 5001 for https.

The whole process of uninstalling and re-installing with a restored back-up scares me! I worry about it not working once restored and not being able to get back to my original installation.

Can anyone confirm this wont connect to server in Windows 10? I cannot get the 3CXphone to connect to my server thru Windows 10 in any build..

Considering Win10 is only in Preview… I would expect many programs/apps to fail.

  6. Problem with installer Phone client 12.5. At every installatiion there is a map on all drives created called AI_RecycleBin. Folder is hidden. and shows at every network drive.

    January 28, 2015 at 3:08 pm
    • @rboers – This folder is used by our file/folder removal mechanism from “Files and Folders” page. It’s name is a coincidence, it’s an internal Advanced Installer recycle bin. They had to modify the name to avoid the confusion.
It’s a temporary folder used to store files that will be removed from disk because there are file/folder operations configured in the installation.

After updating from 12.0 SP6 to 12.5, inbound calls show up, however for the inbound caller they don’t hear anything. Outbound calls connect, however we cannot hear what is being said from the other end. Has this issue been run into elsewhere?

    January 29, 2015 at 6:06 pm
    • @Landon – do you have proper portforwarding implemented and stun disabled? Can you run the 3CX Firewall checker?

  8. Looks like version 12.5 WebRTC has removed option for webmeeting using client method. Some corporations dont want to use Chrome and are fixed on IE for example. Can the client option be reconsidered, and presented on the webpage that shows incompatible browser? Otherwise you cant invite to meeting without knowing what browser they use.

Are there plans to include a search, or directory listing, ability for attended/blind transfers? For non-advanced users, it seems unfortunate to require them to use the extended presence screen for a simple transfer to an extension/number they may not know!

I am looking into upgrading our (8 — ancient) version of 3CX to 12.5, but would like to know what issues have been addressed in the intervening releases. Is there a build report for the different versions?

    March 23, 2015 at 7:47 pm
    • Hello Paul,

Since v8 a lot of new and exciting features have been introduced. In v12.5 the WebRTC gateway and attended transfer over CTI mode were introduced. You can have a look at our 3CX Phone System Changelog for a detailed list on what we have worked on since v8.
