Nick, 1- PLEASE include an exception to the caller id for appliances like the SPA3102 so they will work when there is a comma in the name field. 2- The ability to format the way "email notifications" are sent. I would like the ability to send just the CID number to a numeric pager for some extensions and name and number for other extensions. All the local paging services will accept pages in an email format but only in text no HTML. 7.1 looks and works great (except for the caller id issue - and I know it is not 3cx).

Thank You, John Carroll

Toby - The assistant is a companion utility to a phone - i.e you still pick up the phone. If you launch a call it gets setup on your phone. We have a special Outlook and Salesforce.com plug in coming up over the next few weeks that will link into to the Call Assistant

Justin - yes, we want it to work over the tunnel however we still need to finish that off and test it....

We're going as fast as we can :-)

Justin, 3CX Assistant would connect to for us either at first. To resolve this we had add UDP port 5486 to our router and windows firewall exception list. I agree that the tunnel service should be an alternative connectivity option for 3CX Assistant.

Installation went smoothly. I have my data and phone on two seperate networks so the 3CX assistant wont connect to my phone server. When I use the 3CX VoIP client, I have to connect through the tunnel. Maybe add the tunnel capability to the 3CX Assistant as well?
I haven't had a chance to test out the holiday/office hours bug but will this Friday. I'm surprised there hasnt been to much chatter about this issue. Anyway, thanks for the fast response, keep up the good work.

Thanks all for the nice feedback!

Mark - Yes i agree, this was a mistake on our part and we will avoid this in future

John - Yes, we are working on this feature, which we internally call 'Boomerang' feature. We hope to have it in v8..... I will double check about the priority of caller ID but i agree that should be the way. Extension overrides the port Caller ID but we dont have an outbound rule caller ID at this point....

Hi Nick,

We are a recent 3CX partner, and we are extremely happy with the product so far. The new 7.1 features look very promising. As a suggestion, I think it would be better if my (our) clients don't show their 7.0.4744.0 versions as being "out of date" in the management console, urging them to download 7.1.6064.0. If it's still RC1, and as the support guys say "may hiccup a bit", not to mention you have to uninstall, then the console would be better suited indicating that they are current on their versions until the product is finally relased. Might clear up some confusion and unnecessary reinstalls that could generate higher support tickets. Just my 2 cents...

one more future release suggestion...
- No Voice Mail, Send SMS/Email forwarding action (Extension): The idea here is if you get a call that doesn't result in a call pickup or voice mail message, you can send yourself an sms/email message with the caller id.

Nick, thank you for the follow-up. I appreciate your focus on getting the functionality down. Speaking of v8, I'd like to sneak a few additional suggestions you may want to consider for future release.

- Outbound Rule Caller ID: A typical usage scenario, configuring a NY (212) outbound rule so that calls to 212 area code reflect our company number in New York City. I'm not saying Extension & VOIP/Port overrides are not useful. We use one VOIP Provider (separate from InBound DIDs) for Metered Outbound Calls. I think the priority level (highest to lowest) should be Extension -> Outbound Rule -> VOIP/Port. If configured at Extension level, it overrides everything else. Next priority would be what is configured in the Outbound Rule, etc.
- TTL/SSL support for Mail Server.
- Notify External Number forwarding action (Extension): The idea here is that forwarding to external numbers is imperfect and sometimes leads to business customers being sent to your external/personal phone voicemail. Also the caller id info is not intact. How I see it working...when a call comes in and you have a 'Notify' forwarding action configured (ex. after hours) the PBX system informs the caller "Please hold while we locate" "JohnCz" (user's PID) and puts them on hold (hold music), calls the specified external number and announces "You have a call from " "0123456789" "Press 1 to take call, press 2 or hangup to send to voicemail". If you don't pick up in (10 secs, ring timeout configurable) it goes to voicemail. If your external phone's voicemail picks up, since it doesn't press 1 it will also timeout (5 secs, dtmf timeout) out and send the caller to your 3CX voicemail.

Thanks for the feedback John. You mean the title bar at the top of the dialog - yes makes sense actually. We still want to improve interface, we focused on functionality first.

Myphone link makes sense... Will put this as a request for v8

3CX Assistant is a great adjunct application for hardphone users. I'm pretty excited to hear you are working on an Outlook module. A few suggestions for 3CX Assistant...

- Call Notification UI. Get rid of title bar. Use larger font and icons. I like the font size used for 3CX Assistant "console" header (user's extension description). Also, the notification dialog seems to be cut off on the right side...I would offset the dialog from the right screen edge.

- MyPhone Link. Place a link in 3CX Assistant to the MyPhone page. And frankly, with the extension & pin stored in 3CX Assistant it should log you in automatically.

Thanks for the feedback. Paco - we are working on a module that will let you integrate Caller ID with Outlook or Salesforce and popup the contact record. Re queue - please open a support ticket, its very likely to be a license issue, maybe you run out of licenses for example or some other misconfiguration.

Nice features, but i tried to put 2 calls in one queue with one busy operator and sends me a missatge that transfer call fault. Another thing is that is great the Fixed: Caller ID Shown in Call Assistant, but it is no valid if no name phonebook is associated (it is impossible to remember the callers id)
