  2. Great update will roll out on our test system today. Does the inclusion of snom pnp mean that 3cx and snom have resolved there differences?

  4. Just updated the system, but now for some reason myphone won’t work anymore…

Restarted IIS and the server. When I surf to http://myserverip:5000/myphone I get a 503 error. (Service unavailable)

Is there anybody else having the same problem as me?

    Cheers,

    Laurens

  5. @ Laurens – Is this Server 2012?
Did you install the version of 3CX On 2012 before and updated?
for users installing 3CX Phone System on Server 2012 or Windows 8 you need to
Completely uninstall previous version of 3CX Phone System. (Do not uncheck “leave temp files” at uninstallation stage).
Then freshly download 3CX Phone System with Service pack 2 from the link in this post and install from scratch.

Let us know if you still have a problem after this.

  6. I also confirm necessity of full deinstallation of 3CXPhoneSystem and installing a new image of 3CXPhoneSystem (including SP2) on 2012 Server / Win 8. Upgrading from SP1 to SP2 is creating problems with IIS (MyPhone, Web Management Console, Reports).
The issue was resolved with the help of 3CX support. Thanks.

  7. I have found the problem already.

Apparently when you update to service pack 2. The whole services stop and reset.
While these services for 3CX stopped working HyperFile SQL opened a port for itself on 5060.
Which 3CX uses for SIP. Since 5060 was in use, the PBX wouldn’t activate and causing my problem.

I have found this via CMD ->netstat -o -n -a and search for the PID that is using port 5060 TCP.
Then go to taskmanager and stop the service that is using the port via it’s PID number.

And then go to services and stop it from running automatic (turn it off).

Is there anyway we can get the MyPhone functionality of seeing all calls in MyPhone across the enterprise? I made the upgrade and now I’m getting a few complaints about MyPhone not showing calls in other groups.

    November 6, 2012 at 11:29 am
  10. @ Chris – this was a bug and a privacy breach in the first place. Now 3CX MyPhone users can only see their calls. If configured to see call details, they can see calls to their group members.
To see calls in the other group, they need to be added to the management group for now.
We will be working on a receptionist group soon that can be configured to see calls from all groups but with different rights than those in the management group.

    November 7, 2012 at 1:44 am
  11. @Chris – We are going to add a receptionist group in the future that will see all the calls in the company without having the rights of the management.
For the moment the 3CXMyPhone is correct as it should be. They should not see all the calls in the company. Only the management can see this.

  12. Update to V11 SP2 worked a treat. Nothing bad noticed several useful features added. Upgrade to MyPhone also worked smoothly for us here. Will be rolling out to our clients shortly.

    November 6, 2012 at 4:58 pm
  13. I tried the Update and it failed twice, started the management software and started the updates but no go downloads fine and starts fine and just stops and says Failed.
Says service pack 1 is up to date. I also tried to stop all the services my self and start the update but .. no go..

    :(

    November 12, 2012 at 10:56 pm
  14. @Ron – Can you tell me where it fails? In the download? Does it make it to start the update?
If it downloads fine, then it should tell you to check the file 3CXUpdater.log. It cannot just tell you “Failed”.
Can you show me a screenshot of the problem?
Check the file 3CXUpdater.log and see where the failure happens. Or send it to us via email and we will check this out.

  15. MD

Our customized Email Template for Conferencing was overwritten with the default text when upgrading from Sp1 to Sp2.

    November 19, 2012 at 3:05 pm
  16. @MD – Yes you are correct – this will happen because if we make fixes to it, then you will not have the latest version. Anything that contains at least one 3CX Variable is subject to be updated or changed. As a general rule, since you made custom changes, after the update, go to this location C:\ProgramData\3CX\RollBack\AppData\Data\Http\Templates and take your version from there.
You should check the file to see if changes were made and update your version. Then simply replace the file.
3CX Updater gets all your templates and custom templates, puts them in a file called “Rollback” and updates.

    Hi,
    I have little a question:
I’m trying 3cx phone system v11 with de SP2 on Win XP SP3 . I have read that with the demo license it can activate the call center module, i activate the 3cx with the demo lic. but i cant see the call center section anywhere. I need to make some other settings? or whats wrong, we are plannig to buy it but we need to know how work the call center in 3CX.
    Please help me
“If my english is bad is because i’m a spanish speaker.”

    November 23, 2012 at 11:59 am
  18. @ noel – The call center module is an ADD ON to the 3CX Phone system IP PBX. This means that after you activate you should see in the license page “Call center features – YES”. When you do this, you can access any queue and you will see that many features are now enabled like priority queue, SLA, notifications queue strategies etc etc.

I noticed the section for spa525g2 firmware on the new features for v11sp2, I don’t think firmware version 7.5.2b exists. I can only find 7.5.2a on Cisco’s site. Can someone verify if its a type-o

    November 25, 2012 at 8:50 pm
  20. @eddie – it is the same as the 525
    SPA525G Firmware Version 7.5.3
    SPA525G_7.5.3_FW.zip

    November 26, 2012 at 1:16 am
  21. Eddie

I was just concerned for the firmware upgrade process. It says to upgrade to version 7.5.2b first then 7.5.3 firmware. Cisco only has 7.5.2a then it jumps to 7.5.3

    Thanks!

    November 26, 2012 at 12:46 pm
  22. @Eddie – Yes – now I remember. You need to follow that procedure. It is documented in the cisco change log. Open the change log in the firmware and you will see. If you are running version before 7.4.9b you need to go via an intermediary firmware. But this does not apply to the 525G2. Because it did not yet exist in 7.4.9b. So you can proceed. USe the same firmware as the 525G.

  23. I have found only 1 issue with this update: My users no longer see ALL Active calls outside their Extension Group. I have a number of users who this has caused and issue for.

Would 3CX consider amending this to insert a User Right to allow this again selectively for a given extension.?

I understand that any extensions put in to groups can be shown in the MyPhone app anyway, and that extensions status will show if the user is on a call or not, however it is incredibly useful to see all active calls in the manner previously described without having to expand all the groups in the MyPhone App.

    November 27, 2012 at 5:33 am
  24. @richard – Yes this is by design. It was a bug and a privacy breach from the start. This had to change. Now if you want users to see all calls in the system you have to add them to the management group. However to add an improvement we are going to add a special group named RECEPTIONIST group. These will have the ability to see all the calls in the system and can be configured with rights as well.

    @Nick

Thank you for your comments, I did read the previous posting from another user on this subject too.

We have a client who requires this feature (and actively used it) to be re-enabled on a per-extension basis. At present, if an extension is placed in the MANAGEMENT group it is auto-removed from it’s original group. A ‘special’ Reception Group like that of the Management Group would not suit the needs of this client as we wouldn’t want to add the Office Manager person in a Reception group – They are already a member of another Extension Group which servers a purpose.

They are a bit frustrated by this change. I do appreciate that such a change could not be made on the basis of 1 individual customer, however I believe the 3CX software would benefit from such an improvement in addition to your proposed “RECEPTION” group.

Can this not be added as an additional “Right” under the Extension Group properties, where you could add this permission in a similar fashion to the way you add extensions to the Extension Group Administrators list?
