Update for the CallVia3CX Extension

Click to Call from your browser with the CallVia3CX extnsion for ChromeWe recently introduced you to a new Chrome extension we’ve developed, the CallVia3CX extension. With the CallVia3CX extension, users can dial phone numbers directly from their CRM system or browser by a simple click of the mouse. Numbers are automatically transferred to the 3CX client for Windows ready for the call to be made, eliminating the need to copy and paste or dial. Essentially, it gives every page you visit Click2Call functionality!

This update includes:

  • A new feature for Maximum Number Length
  • An improvement to the display of the 3CX Arrow icon
  • Google images open when google image search is used
  • Gmail Contacts are now displayed correctly
  • Phone numbers starting with parenthesis are now detected

You can download the CallVia3CX extension from the Chrome web store here.

  2. Several problems still. I fear you need to have some stronger phone recognition skills. serial numbers, article codes are still begin displayed phone numbers, It would be helpful if i could set a requirement of leading characters (eg with 00, + (both international) or 0 (national) )
Also I noted that a phone number starting with 088xxxxxxx was displayed as 88xxxxxxx, and also put that way (with out the leading zero) into my softphone.

  3. Can you give us example links so we can check? Screenshot or something?
Also lets discuss on how to detect a serial number or a phone number. I mean if you have a page full of serial numbers that page has to be an exception so we do not detect it.. If I work in a book shop and I have a website full of ISBN Numbers, then of course I have to exclude it.

At this moment, on MAC you can select a text in a document (no matter Text Edit, Safari etc) then press Cmd+3 – the only condition is 3CXPhone to be running.

It doesn’t seem to work. I get the prompt to launch 3CX client but nothing happens. I have restarted Chrome after enabling the plugin.

For businesses listed under Google’s site listings. Some of the numbers will only include a Zip code for dialing instead of the phone number listed under the business.

  9. It would be nice to have a right click menu, allowing you to simply highlight the number and right click dial. Also it should really dial automatically and not require enter.

@Alpash, thanks for the comment. For this you could also request as a feature, http://www.3cx.com/ideas but sometimes numbers are clicked on by mistake and if the phone were to dial without input it would be very disruptive.
