Beta of New 3CXPhone for 3CX Phone System Available!

We’ve just launched the beta of 3CXPhone for 3CX Phone System, a new Android SIP client that has been designed specifically for use with 3CX Phone System 11 and up! 3CXPhone integrates seamlessly with 3CX and allows you to make and receive office calls on your Android smartphone from anywhere using 3G and WiFi. Make savings on your telecommunications costs by making internal office calls free of charge.

The new client replaces the older 3CXPhone for Android and has a brand new interface as well as great new features such as multiple lines, the ability to provision an account by clicking on the attachment in the 3CX welcome email, and attended transfers.

New Android SIP client beta launched - 3CXPhone

3CXPhone for 3CX Phone System features include:

  • Make and receive calls from your extension via 3CX Phone System 11
  • Use your work number rather than your personal mobile number – calls made to your desk phone will ring on your smartphone
  • Use company infrastructure to save on call costs – make free inter-office calls from wherever you are, rather than via the mobile network
  • Seamless out of office or in office detection
  • Integrated 3CX Tunnel bypasses remote firewall or provider issues
  • Transfer and hold calls
  • Easily change your status to In or Out of the Office
  • Provision extension details via email

Additional features coming soon:

  • Ability to see presence of colleagues
  • View call history
  • Company phone book
  • Easily setup conference calls
  • Manage voice mail

While the older 3CXPhone for Android client will still be available for users to make and receive calls via VoIP Providers, we will not be updating it any longer.

The new 3CXPhone requires Android 2.3 and up and 3CX Phone System 11 and up. 3CXPhone is free to use for all 3CX Phone System 11 users and is available to download from Google Play. Please show your support for 3CXPhone for 3CX Phone System by rating it and giving it positive reviews. The iOS client for 3CXPhone for 3CX Phone System will be released shortly.

What attachment? I just installed a new instance of 3CX version 11 SP4, created a new extension with an email address, and received the welcome email. However, I do not see an attachment. Can you please clarify if it is a link in the email we need to click on while on the android device, or an actual attachment? If attachment, what is the name of the file and it’s extension?

@Alberto Good morning, can you please provide more information about your problem? is the voice quality poor, is there only one way sound or the application is slow because of old hardware on your device?

Running on a Samsung SGH-I547C (Rugby Pro), I’ve discovered that when there is a voicemail, and the icon is pressed, it says that I’m connected, but there is no audio, tunnel or no tunnel over LTE, works fine over WiFi. It works fine when 999 is dialled.

Incoming calls do not work when using the Tunnel, over both LTE and WiFi. If the Tunnel is turned off, they work just fine.
An external call does not show at all, an internal call pops up for a second then disappears, showing only a missed call.

In all cases the phone shows as registered and is able to make outgoing calls with no problem.

    Some suggestions…

Change “Out of office” Icon from something other than a house, perhaps a walking person, to indicate you are “on the move” not necessarily at home.

Have the message waiting envelope turn red, not blue, when there is a message.Everything else is white or blue on the idle home screen, red would stand out.

After dialling the voicemail number, have the dial pad stay on the screen for a time. to allow a VM PIN to be entered.

Introduce an Icon showing that the Tunnel option is active.

When I go to Settings/About, the version number is overwritten with a what looks like a System number.

Is there an APK for this, the in house android devices that we use are locked out of google play so we have to install each app individually using the apk.

@sam For now all APK downloads have to be from Google Play. Your request is noted though – we are thinking about this.

  13. I noticed the beta does not have a blutooth option – is that a delayed feature or has it been removed?
