3CX V15 SP4: BETA 2 Available for Test Drive

Test drive the 3CX V15 SP4 Release with the V15 BETA ProgramSP4 for 3CX V15 is available as BETA 2 with the V15 BETA Program. We want to give you a chance to take the features for a test drive and hear your feedback. We recently did this with our new iOS and Android clients and it was very well received from our community.

SP4 BETA 2 V15 Features (Build 15.60903)

  • Fixed a crash in the IVR service on Linux where on particular circumstances a crash might occur
  • On extreme load situations, a SIP server crash could occur. This has been fixed.
  • Fixed bug where connections for push were not closed
  • Added more reporter fixes
  • Fixed bugs in FXS Gateways and DECT phones
  • Fax extensions not showing in FXS provisioning
  • Added new international country codes blocked by default for added security
  • Updated IP-Phone templates to avoid call hijacking
  • Fixed management console provisioning interface selection. Phones will be provisioned to the correct interface
  • Fixed a bug in E164 and country international prefix
  • Fixed bug in Failover from passive to active
  • Reports show costs with 2 decimal places
  • Office 365 integration on linux

To test run this installation:

Get a 3CX PBX License key from here. After this proceed to download your preferred edition of 3CX.

  • Windows users download 3CX for Windows from here
  • Debian users must follow this guide but in “/etc/apt/sources.list.d/3cxpbx.list” update the repository to “http://downloads.3cx.com/downloads/3cxpbxbeta/ /”. After this perform “apt-get update” and “apt-get install 3cxpbx” commands. So the complete list of commands should look like this:
    wget -O- http://downloads.3cx.com/downloads/3cxpbx/public.key | apt-key add -
    echo "deb http://downloads.3cx.com/downloads/3cxpbxbeta/ /" | tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/3cxpbx.list
    apt-get update
    apt-get install 3cxpbx

This installation is not to be installed on production and will potentially not be upgradeable. Backups from this version might not be portable to production versions.

Any feedback can be sent directly in the comments section below.

  1. Nicky, you referenced the IVR and SIP service crash fix. We have also had issues in the Linux version with the Media and System Server service crashing occasionally as well. Were those service crashes also addressed by this fix?

    • We have dependencies and crashes can cause inter locking between components. This means that a sip server crash could have caused media server to crash and maybe the management console crash caused the system service to crash in turn.
So if you had crashed (any type of service problem) update and let me know.

we have been experiencing system server service crash too, we went ahead and migrated all our customers to v15 linux though anyway. looking forward to having this SUPER RARE problem resolved. Great job 3cx!

Is there any ETA on when call reports can be viewed as a .pdf in the linux version? A client of ours needs to view voice recordings and call reports work very well.

(yes we may move them to a windows box due to time constraints but would love an ETA for this feature)

  3. I’m getting following error when trying to install SP4 beta2 on Windows server:

    • Where you get this error?
      Can you provide more information?
Can you open a browser and access https://erp.3cx.com

      December 7, 2016 at 10:30 am
  4. Yes, I can open https://erp.3cx.com with browser. I’ve tested specially.
I requested new demo key, pasted at the beginning of installation and at the end the install process requires all data gain — company, name, email, phone, country, reseller. Nevertheless I enter identical data as during obtaining license key, I got the above error and installation can’t be finished.

However the installation of V15 SP4beta is gone, I’ve installed V14 for a demo to a customer today, it went fluently on the same VM.

    • We checked when this message comes up. It is caused either when the license server cannot be reached, or DNS settings on your side are wrong.
Did you have network issues at the time of installation?
We will improve the license error message with what you need to check when this error is raised.
About the license details, the entered details should have been loaded automatically. Can you double check?

      December 7, 2016 at 11:40 am
  5. No, Nicky, registration details were not loaded automatically, instead I was asked to enter them again and again, no option to cancel unless you close the browser. However this installation attempt is gone, I uninstalled the 3CX V15. I assume this could has been a temporary network issue.

When will the newly released firmware updates by Yealink be supported?

    Hi Nicky –
Any updates on production and release of the hotel module?

  8. Are there any plans to support firmware upgrades for remote extensions directly or is the recommended way to add the provisioning/upgrade information to the phone template and send endpoints elsewhere for firmware? It would certainly save a few steps if this was supported directly on the PBX.

I found on linux to create a cron job that reboots the server everynight at 2:00 AM. This has stopped the crashes.

Can anyone please advise if the V4 Beta Windows version can be installed over (upgrade) the current release V3? This is on a non-production system so it’s no major concern, but I’d like to preserve my configuration if possible.

    • you can update using service pack updates or you can take a backup, uninstall, install new version and restore the backup.

    HI All,
Today we have just received the new SP4 on our management console.
Is it still in beta testing or for production?

So given that the only download is a complete install (there’s no BETA or RC service pack, is there?) then I guess I’m waiting for the official release of V4?
