Installing 3CX Phone System Multi Tenant Version 10

3CX Phone System Multi Tenant gives you the ability to install multiple instances (also known as Tenants) on the same computer. You host multiple separate 3CX Phone System IP PBX’s for your different customers/businesses on one server computer.

Installation Requirements

  • Can be installed on 64-bit computers only
    • Supported operating systems are Windows Server 2008 / 2008 R2
  • The server must be powerful and should have the necessary memory requirements
  • Total memory footprint per 3CX Phone System installation is 200 MB
  • Webserver is hardcoded to IIS
    • Abyss cannot be selected
  • Maximum of 10 instances are supported at the moment.
  • Note: 3CX Multi Tenant can be installed on Windows 7 64 bit for testing and demonstration purposes only. A 3CX Multi Tenant installation on Windows 7 64 bit is not suitable for deployment because of limitations in IIS.

Installation Procedure

To obtain 3CX Phone System Multi Tenant, please contact the 3CX Sales Team.

Upon launching setup, you will be prompted to enter the name for this tenant:

The name should ideally be the name of the company or branch office that you’re hosting. The name cannot be empty or longer than 20 characters and can only consist of lowercase/uppercase letters and numbers, preferably without spaces. In this case we will name the tenant ‘ABCLtd’.

The Installation Folder dialog will be displayed. This will contain the Tenant name in the Application Folder Path.

3CX Multi-Tenant

Once setup is complete, the 3CX Wizard dialog will come up. From this point onwards, everything is the same as a normal 3CX Phone System installation. After the installation wizard is complete, the 3CX Management Console web interface will come up.

Installing Another Tenant

When you need to add another instance, you will need the actual installation .exe package that you originally used.

Double click on the installation setup.

A dialog will appear with a list of instances that the setup can support. 3CX Phone System Multi Tenant Setup package can install up to 10 instances from Tenant 1 to Tenant 10.

Select the option “Install new instance”. In this example we will select Tenant2

Setup will start the preparations for Tenant2 installation. Enter the friendly name for tenant 2 and follow the same installation procedures as outlined for Tenant1.
