What is your favorite IP Phone?

For deskphones we prefer snom phones, because the are easy to deploy, customizable, feature-rich and we have a very good documentation(gui, options, provisioning in the wiki) and service. and they work remote as well as local also behind nat routers with a adsl with forced reconnect every 24 hours.
As software solution we prefer 3CX Phone because it is easy to use and very comfortable in conjunction with 3CX Assistant.

For desk phones we like the Linksys products – especially the SPA942 and 962.
The advantage they had over the similar Snom products was the fact that they had intercom and 2 ports and were cheaper than the equivalent.
Nice and easy to set up too.
For softphones then it has to be 3CX, and 3CX for Android!

Results so far show a lot of support for Linksys / CISCO – probably not because they are the best featured, but because they are ubiquitous and inexpensive.
Would love to see 3CX put more into supporting them – even though some of the stuff they do around BLF/SLA is not standard, when supported it works well.

In version 9 we do shared parking / SLA with almost all phones. What other features are you looking for on the Cisco?

I’ll tell you what, I’m a Yealink fan. I was pretty skeptical at first, but I’ve done three installs with Yealinks now and I really dig them. You just can’t beat the price.

We like the Yealink phones, good sound quality and multi account setup (in office and out of office accounts)also conference key for 3 party conference calls.
Would like to see a method of seting up a 3 way conf using 3CX soft phone.

I like the 3cx phone for android but for VoIP phones its all in your preference, there are plenty of great providers out there.

I have used the Yealink, Snom, Grandstream, 3CX Phone and Panasonic KX-HGT100. All phones are easy to setup and deploy but the Snom and Yealink seem to be the most feature rich and have an easy to use GUI.

As far as a soft phone goes, in our book there is only one 3CX Phone. We have mixed feelings as far as desk phones. The audio quality on the Yealkink phones using HD audio technology is superior. Unfortunately many of our clients go for Cisco for obvious reasons and will not even consider anything else. I use a Cisco SPA525G for its bluetooth capability. We have a host of Aastra phones in house and in the filed too and they have served us very well. When my client has the funds I sell them the Cisco 525G particularly if I can get them to use the built in bluetooth. If not, we definitely push Aastra.

Thanks for the feedback re Cisco and 3CXPhone. I would not recommend Aastra phones to any customer to be honest as they are not supported by 3CX, nor by Aastra in combination with 3CX. Considering the poll response i would think there will be little change to the position…..

Any news on the Iphone application? The ad on the mainpage lists Iphone as supported along with Andriod ect. But I cannot find it on appstore…

No, its still in development. Keep checking the blog for news. It will be posted here as soon as its ready for beta.

i dont have any ip phones but i do use Groundwire on my iphone its very good
