Configure 3CX Phone System V14

Step 1 - Login and Configure your Virtual PBX

When you login to the 3CX Management Console for the first time you will be presented with the "Configuration Wizard" which will walk you through the initial configuration step by step.  

  1. The first window will ask you to choose the digit length of your extension numbers.
  • This is a very important decision, since it cannot be altered later. Choose your setting and click “Next”

  1. Select your country, International Dialing Code (exit code) and time zone settings then Click “Next”.

  1. The General Settings configuration window will ask you for the Operator's Extension, which is the default destination for inbound calls, leave the default or choose your own. Enter a Name and an Email for the Operator and click “Next”.

  1. The wizard will then ask you to specify the countries and regions to which calls can be made. Calls to countries which are not selected, will be blocked. This feature reduces the risk of VoIP toll fraud.
  • Choose the countries you would like to allow and click “Finish”

You have now completed the initial configuration of 3CX Phone System. Your browser will open and you will be presented with the 3CX Phone System Management Console. The Quick start page will show you the steps you still need to take.

    3cx v14 is installed….first i configured intercom…..then i configured sip trunk also….but call fail…is getting …but intercom is working fine…
    will u able to give any support engg. no…

      @jijo, thanks for the question. It is very difficult to guess what the issue is here although intercom and calling through a sip trunk are two very different things. I can only suggest you check your outbound rules and make sure that you have configured these correctly to allow calls to go out of the Sip trunk. If this is not your issue please contact your 3CX reseller/partner or distributor to open a ticket with our support team so that they can look into this for you. If this is not an option for you, please ask this question in our user forums and I am sure that one of out very capable users and partners will be able to assist you further.     what’s if you made a mistake and need to re-configure 3 digits of ext instead of 4 ? or the default operator been changed ?

      @Mo, in order to change digit lengths you will need to remove, re-instal and reconfigure as a new system. There is no way to change extension digit lenghts. The operator extension can be changed from Settings > PBX but not the number of digits it contains.
