Outbound Calls

Introduction

3CX provides out of the box integration with EBP. This integration allows showing the contact record on inbound calls, create a new contact directly from the EBP web interface, and make outbound calls in click-to-call fashion.

Pre-requisites

  • 3CX  V15 PRO edition
  • 3CX Client for Windows V15 installed
  • EBP CRM Ligne PME Open Line v8
  • Not compatible with Terminal Server Environment (TSE), will allow one concurrent session only

Admin configuration of the EBP Integration

Download the Plugin from the Management Console. Go to Dashboard > Updates Page.”

From the “Integration Category ” select the “EBP” and press “Download.”

To assign the EBP Plugin to the Extension, go to the “Extensions” page. Edit the desired Extension and go to the “Integration” Tab. Enable the Integration and select the EBP.zip from the drop down list.

Users configuration of the EBP Plugin

From the 3CX Client for Windows, press the “Settings” button.

Select the “Advanced Settings” > “Integration.” On the General settings you can configure the Contact Open Mode and the Behavior of the Plugin. On the EBP settings you can configure your CRM paths.

General configuration

Click on General to open the general settings page. Here you can configure when you want to open the contact record in EBP (on ring, upon answer, or don’t open it), and if you only want to open the contact record if the Caller ID length is larger than a number of digits (so it’s not launched when another extension is calling you).

Some of the options are not relevant with EBP:

  • Enable Journaling, this option is always enabled, a popup will open to keep track of each new call.
  • Create new contacts if not found, from the call popup you can click “Contact” > “Add” to create a contact manually.
  • “Maximum digit length to compare”, the CRM can only do an exact match with full number in national format or international (with 00 or + followed by default country code).

EBP configuration

In the EBP configuration you will need to set the following:

  1. The EBP.CRM.Application.exe location, by default this should be “C:\Program Files\EBP\CRM8.0FRFR40\EBP.CRM.Application.exe” for v8 french version.
  2. The *.ebp database location containing your contacts. By default this has been set to “C:\Users\Administrator\Documents\EBP Demo CRM 8.0 FR Ligne Open Line.ebp” which is the demo database for user Administrator.

  1. Click “Save” for any changes to apply.

Configuring Outbound Calls

An EBP configuration file must be modified to handle outbound calls from CRM. To do so:

  • Close the EBP completely,
  • Open the Explorer and go to folder “C:\Program Files\EBP\CRM8.0FRFR40\”,
  • Open the file “EBP.CRM.Application.exe.config” with the Notepad,
  • Add the following line at the bottom of the <appSettings> section:

<add key="VoipUrl" value="http://127.0.0.1:47280/?Destination={0}"/>

  • Save file.

That’s it, you are now all set.

Inbound Calls

On inbound calls, a window “Appel entrant (...)” with contact details will open through EBP such as the one below:

Once the call is ended you need to click button “Arrêter” to stop duration record in EBP. Then fill in the relevant details and Save sheet.

Note that your contacts will need to have been input correctly in the contacts database, exact match number will occur in national (10 digits) or international format (for e.g +33xxxxxxxxx).

Outbound Calls

In your contacts, you will also have a click to call button “Appeler en VoIP” which will trigger call through the 3CX client, which can then be used in softphone or CTI modes as usual to dial:

Once the call is ended you need to click the “Arrêter” button to stop duration record in EBP. Then fill in the relevant details and Save sheet.
