3cx bridging improvment

Postby jesnofear » Tue Feb 23, 2010 10:00 am

I setup a bridge between 2 3cx systems, (one of which is a demo that i am trying to display) anyways, Locally the bridge works great. but sadly incoming calls from PBX 1 are not able to be routed to PBX 2 automatically. Example, i have 4 sip trunks on the first pbx, one of the phone numbers i wanted to route to the demo box (auto attendant ext) also, when setting up multiple systems there should be a way, or a easier way to make it so you can place calls through the other pbx. Example, PBX 2 has no trunks, all calls would be placed through PBX 1.

Just a though

one is full licenses, other is the demo licenses, but normally they would both be licensed. just in my case, i am setting up a demo box trying to sell a whole solution to someone, i wanted to give them a taste but was unable to remotely due to this restriction.

This is less of a feature request and more of a "request to change the free versions limitations".

I would not make that change. This would allow users to just pop a free version in small remote locations and buy a smaller license in the main office and have complete functionality.

For example, we just sold a system to a customer with one main office with 8 users and 3 remote locations with 2 employees each.

SO they decided between a 16 call license at the home office and using remote extensions, or multiple licenses.

IF the free version allowed this, they could have just got an 8 call for home, and free in each location. Thats bad business! Not to mention the complete lack of support on the bridging function.

Other proprietary PBS software packages charge out the "wazoo" for bridging functionality, so the fact that it is included in 3CX is a major plus.

I totally understand what your original post is about. I would try to obtain an NFR for demo purposes. It would be nice to show that feature off. But you are going to have to find a way not including the free version IMHO.
