Automatic Next Extension Numbering

Postby KerryG » Sun Oct 11, 2009 7:08 pm

While I use 3 digit extensions, I usually don't start with 100 but anytime I go to create a new extension it always starts at 100. I think a better option would be a general settings option for "Start Extensions at xxxx" and if I wanted to put 200 in there then I add an extension it will give me the next available number. If I have already created 200-210 and have created a 300 softphone, the next available would still be 211.

Yes,
I agree ... I already requested this feature to Kevin, probably they will add it in the next release (lets hope so).

I agree also, I think this feature is very logically..
This will be very helpful when you have too many extensions which starts with a number other than 100, you have to edit the new added extension number every time as it restarts with 100 always..

For the moment as a workaround you can use the Import Extension function.

I've attached 2 CSV Files that you can modify to your liking before importing.

3Digit.csv

4Digit.csv
(690.44 KiB) Downloaded 79 times

That's not exactly a workaround. Its fine for initial configuration, its the one at a time additions later that are a pain because of the default numbering.
