Call forward with accept pattern

Postby Kris2k » Tue Jan 05, 2010 2:29 am

Hi all,

It would be nice to see when using the Call Forward 'option to confirm to accept' feature the three following refinements:
- Instead of playing the extension digits, to play the voicemail name identifier message (if the user recorded it).
- When calling the endpoint, either try to have some AnswerMachine detection algorithm to hang-up when it detects its a non-human answer, or at least send-down a digit like # (or even make it configurable in the system settings), once the channel is open, so that it interrupts the voicemail that may answer, and avoids the endpoint's voicemail to have an empty message.
- Have the option (in a system setting) to transfer the source callerid+callername to the outbound channel, so that the receiving endpoint sees the callerid data of the original call.

Fairly simple changes that will enhance the usability, and make the product great!

Cheers

+1 !
I can't find a way to do that with PSTN Outbound Parameters (internal trunk)

This would be almost impossible to do. I've reached answering machines that I don't realise are not a live person until 15 seconds (or more) into the call. You are asking a lot for a machine to do that, all it would be able to do is tell that the call has been answered and that there is a some audio (not silence) on the line.
