call transfer/on hold at cell

Postby broesder » Tue Apr 20, 2010 6:58 pm

Hi,

I would be pleased to see a function that makes it possible to transfer calls with my cellphone or other external phone.
It should be like:

-RG on 3CX rings internal extensions and one (ore more) cell phones
-I accept the call on my cell phone (so it is forwarded by 3CX)
-On my cell I press # or something else (DTMF?)
-3CX recognize the # is pressed and places the call on hold and on my cell I will hear a dial tone
-On my cell I can dial a number or extension like on a normal extension (eg extension 100)
-Extension 100 answers and I can talk to the person
-On my cell pressing the # will transfer the external call to ext 100, or, pressing * will switch between the external call and ext 100 (and, additionally, pressing 0 will be a conference or something...)

This would be very usefull in organisations where a lot of calls are forwarded to mobile phones!!

Thanks!!

Hi,

This feature already exists.
You can just make a Digital Receptionist, call it through your mobile and whilst in the menu of the DR just dial the extension of your liking.

You cannot do this through the Queues or Ring group, but you do have the option in Digital Receptionists.

Lots of hosted PBX systems have the feature to transfer calls that have been forwarded to cell to another number. Just by "watching" what buttons are pressed on this phone and act corresponding to the configuration in the PBX. It's true, I can dial in by the IVR, but I want to answer a call on my cell that have been forwarded by 3CX, and than transfer it back to a extension on the PBX. I am sure you know what kind of feature I mean. It isn't implemented yet in the PBX and it would be usefull in many situations.

Kind regards

Too simple to be the truth... :)
But as I told already, the "use case" is interesting.

Please have a look at
http://www.mcs-nl.com/files/nl/gsm-inte ... der_UK.pdf

This is a hardware phone function to route to cell, but would be easy to implement in 3CX.

In Holland there are several hosted voip providers who offer this functionality, they call it "mobile office" Even Vodafone has that function in combination with their voip systems.

Kind regards,
Johan Broesder.

I dont see how this applies to a digital receptionist. The issue is that there is no way to transfer calls using dial commands like most every other phone system. In order to transfer a call today you have to use the phone's transfer function or the 3CX Assistant. If you are not on a phone with a transfer function, like a cell phone, you have no means of transferring calls. How could this possible upset anyone and why would it? This is one of the big features I feel is still missing from 3CX.

This also would apply to customers using analog phones via an FXS interface that currently does not allow feature codes to transfer.
