Cisco 7960

Postby max@zl2max.gen.nz » Sat Mar 05, 2011 2:19 am

Hi Guys

one of my Ciscos 7960, dosn't work, can't get anything from the key pad...

Stick it on its own subnet on its own and you can ping it, but not telnet ...

Is there some sort of master reset I can use to default it ??

Thanks

Max

There is often a factory reset for cisco but from a dial code or the phone interface, which may not help in your case.

I cant help you as we avoid these phones (we enjoy the easy life :) )

Try pressing..

* 6 and the settings button at the same time until Headset button lights up, release and press #. It will then display "re-set key sequence detected" when you see this press in order 123456789*0#. It will then ask if you would like to keep settings. Choose 2-No. Will then re-set to shipped defaults and firmware.

Hope this helps.

solution to your problem
Install TFTP Server and reload the firmware & the configuration files.

we had the same issue on a 7940 and this did the trick.
