3cx support,
I wanted to know if you can add the option to change the ext. status from the hard phone? like if the user wants to change his/her status to out of office, busy, custom1,custom2. can they just use a dail code for this? something like *41,*42,*43.

Hi,

The user can login to their personal Voice Mail, press 9 and then 1.
Then there's a menu asking you what you want to set your status to.

This was done like this instead of using dial codes so that the user can dial in to their office from home and change their status at any time no problems.

Yes, Your correct but I do not use the voicemail system 3cx provides I use Exchange 2007 to handle this so this would not be a option. My users do not always have access to a computer screen so the dial codes would work. Or even better would be a away to have 3cx use the Exchange out of office status and then set the phone to away
