Extension Status Set to "Out of Office" Problem

Postby beaterku » Tue Feb 07, 2012 6:33 pm

Good morning all,

I have a strange situation going on. I am running V9 with all of the latest service packs and updates. Nothing has changed on my system in months. I have 3 voice lines coming in via a Grandstream 4104. The Grandstream is running firmware 1.3.4.10, as recommended by 3cx. I have 6 Cisco SPA phones all running firmware 7.4.6. I have each of the 3 lines going into an individual ring group (so that I can visually see on the phones what line is ringing) to all 6 Cisco phones are a part off. The ring groups are set to ring all so that they all ring. This has worked flawlessly for the last 2 years without any hitches.

Yesterday, I had a meeting outside of the office so I set my extension to out of office like I always do. Right away I noticed that something was not right. I started receiving calls from my office, and it was callers trying to reach the office. I called the office and they said that a call comes in, rings one and then stops. I had them switch my extension back to available, and it starts working correctly again. Somehow, 3CX is forwarding all incoming calls to my cell phone when I set my extension to out of office. I rebooted my 3CX box, the gateway, my cisco switch to no avail. I have literally changed nothing and this started doing this.

Any ideas?

Here is a log when the problem occurs. The 913269xxxx is a cell phone we dialed in on to test and 484xxxx is my cell phone number. Interestingly, it has dropped the area code from my cell number.

Re: Set extension to away, now problems

Postby beaterku » Tue Feb 07, 2012 6:40 pm

Here is a log of a call without my extension set to out of office. I did make a change. I set all of my incoming lines to go to the same ring group to see if that was the problem. That is why This log shows extension 800 vs 805 above.

Re: Extension Status to away problems

Postby beaterku » Wed Feb 08, 2012 3:39 pm

Good morning all, I went around the office setting each extension to out of office and had the same problem at all. For the last 2 years this feature worked perfectly. A caller would call in, it would ring all extensions, someone would answer the call, then forward it to the "out of office" extension and it would ring the cell phone of that extension. All of a sudden I am having these problems.

I had planned on upgrading to V10 in the next couple of weeks anyway, so this may be the push I need to actually do it.

Try and go to the 3cx console--->extenstion status----->click on the extension---->click forwarding rules tab---->click on the out of office tab make sure you select to send calls to vm when your out of office not foarward to your mobile phone. You can also click on the custom tabs for more out of office detail. I hope this helps if not let me know.
