I can route this call to any extension or a digital receptionist. Now the problem is that I'd like to call one external number (out of the PBX) at the moment I'm connected to my PBX. I can only forward my call to a predefined phone number for the moment but I would like to type a number that I would like to call.

When you reach your 3CX, dial your voicemail number, enter your extension and PIN. Now dial 9 (options) then 3 (dial a number). Dial the number as though you were dialing from an extension on your 3CX. That's it!

If you want to continue using Skype, we suggest you look into using Skype connect. It is unlikely we will be making new versions for the 3CX Gateway for Skype

This is a real shame as one of the issues with the Skype connect option is the setup costs per call and no chance of using a subscription plan so it gains the convenience of Skype but with significant added costs.

I had heavily integrated the 3CX Gateway for Skype into all of my 3CX installs. Whilst for now it continues to work with new versions being unlikely I can no longer afford to offer this feature to new clients.

Would you consider donating the code as GPL so maybe it can continue to be developed if you are firm on the decision to no longer support/develop it further.

Please add an option that allow to register extensions with the public ip (discovered in packet header) instead of the contact ip declared by the phone.
This may allow the use of some device (like Samsung WIP6000) unable to perform stun request.

We have a few requests regarding Forwarding Rules for an extension:

  • Possibility to rename the different status labels, especially Custom #1 and Custom #2 but if possible also the other ones (Available, Away and Out of Office). We would love if this would be (easier) to configure, and it would be even better if we could specify this for each extension differently.
  • Possibility to disable the Do Not Dirsturb status for an extension.
  • An extra option at the Exceptions to insert a rule to forward to Mobile Number.

Actually it would be godlike if forwarding rules could be added like the advanced forwarding rules were in 3CX v8. In a way that you can add as many statuses as you would like and they would show up in your Assistant's dropdown menu if you add more (or remove them).
The way it is now is very much improved, but it could be alot better. Now our employees all have the same statuses in the assistant to choose from. But some of them only need the available/away/out of office, while others need available/away/out of office and like 5 more customizable statuses.

I think the best feature software can have is reliability. Most software has bugs, some more than others.

But in my mind, a phone system has to meet a higher standard. In the case of 3cx, we are often replacing decades old PBXs. They don't have a lot of features, but one that they do have is reliability. All the flash and dangle won't win a customer (or a partner, especially a partner) if the product is flaky. The shine of "all those features" goes away pretty quickly when they don't all work, or work erratically. Its frustrating for end customers, and both frustrating and very expensive for partners who have to take it on the chin from end customers, and also eat the time and effort it takes to work around bugs.

My feature request is no more features until the feature of reliability is realized. When a product is put out and everything works, then it's possible to consider adding another feature.

Thanks.

We need to be able to customize the e-mail that are sent for the voicemail. The current format is 1231231234 which Andriod phones do not reconize. If we were to change the format to 1-123-123-1234, we can dial from the e-mail by highlighting the phone number. Also, the wav files gets to big. Mp3 would be the solution to minimize the file sizes.

Skype connect is not a replacement and (after an hour +15 min) with skype they have no seamless replacement. Their answer, Skype Connect, needs a channel (or more), Skype manager, a NEW skypeid (as the old is not transferable to Skype manager) and Skype numbers to call in (from the US only??). In my book a big step backward! (comments from my customers deleted (and from Nixon Expletive Deleted, many)

Do you think 3CX can come up with something as not to abandon us??

Here's some ideas for some new features:
1. Improve the call cost reporting by allowing flat rate billing in some instances
2. Consider streaming audio support for MOH
3. Consider Outlook calendar integration so that when a user sets themself as äway"in 3CX it sets their calendar as unavilable accordingly (this feature is available in some competitor's systems, such as IPFX)
4. Consider re-doing the Patton gateway templates to incorporate country-specific dial tones as well as SIP survivability (very good option for a gateway device in a remote site for a single 3CX Server implementation) country-specific tone settings can also be implemented in Linksys SPA handsets - even a variable section for us to enter our own country-specific tone sets would be good - then the template could treat them as variables
5. Consider SIP support over TCP (not critical, however it would be nice moving forward at some stage)
6. Consider support for multi-party video conferencing with the softphone
7. Consider including the 3CX Tunnel feature in the iPhone app

Great enhancements with the phone provisioning, including the firmware updates otherwise...

If this already exists, can someone point it out to me? - A feature to only allow registration from a specific subnet?
