Forum ranks - Specialist - Expert - 3CX Valued Professional

Postby admin » Wed May 23, 2007 9:23 am

3CX appreciates the help of 3CX Phone System users in answering forum posts of users new to 3CX Phone System and VOIP in general.

To show our appreciation we have created a system of forum ranks, each with significant benefits:

Specialist Level
You become a Specialist after posting 50 posts. These posts should not only be questions in regards to your own installation, a significant number of these should be pointers and help for other users.

Expert Level
You become an Expert after posting 150 posts and demonstrating significant knowledge on how to configure 3CX Phone System and help other users get it up and running. This level entitles you to one free 3CX Expert cap or polo mailed to you at no cost

3CX Valued Professional level
You become a 3CX Valued Professional after posting 250 posts and demonstrating in depth knowledge in troubleshooting 3CX Phone System. You are able to uncover and track bugs and configure 3CX with new VOIP providers and VOIP equipment. This level entitles you to:

1. All the benefits of the specialist and expert level
2. $100 Amazon.com voucher or payment via paypal
3. Listing on 3CX Valued professional page.
4. A free 3CX Valued Professional polo mailed to you at no cost.

To remain a "3CX Valued Professional" you have to post at least 250 posts per 12 months.

Are these benefits still applicable? I'm wondering because I wanted to access the specialist benefits since I've now reached rank "Specialist", but I can't see the content of the special forum section.

I am too not able to read "Forum for Specialist, Expert, Valued Professional members" even if i reach the Specialist level

To remain a specialist you have to go on to become an "Expert" within 6 months.

You mean 100 post at all , or 100 over the 25 of specialist , when you reach the 125 post within 6 months?

A few days after I reached Specialist level, 3CX Team sent me an e-mail telling me I was now a Specialist and that I was able to go to restricted forum. Wait a little bit and you should have your rights granted.

As for the second question, I have idea about it...

If I'm not mistaken, the number of posts to become Specialist has changed from 25 to 50. And to become Expert, now you need 100 - 150, not 100 anymore. Has this really changed or had I misread this post?! :D What was this change motivated by?

Hi Coelhopsi,

Yes this has changed. We we're finding that 25 posts is too low to become a specialist. Basically users who have a lot of questions automatically become specialists - this status is then misleading to other users. Expert level is still 100-150 but we want to ensure that many posts also demonstrate knowledge of the system and help to other users.

We also improved the support on the specialist forums - our support people now monitor that daily, this was not happening previously. So the entry barriers are a little higher but we deliver a bit more as well.

Hi there

Our ranking mechanism first flags us when a user hits the number of posts threshold, but then we manually review the quality of the posts before actually elevating the user to Specialist rank.

Multiple useless posts are not considered favourably.

Hey there,

I'm kinda feeling like you guys are holding out on us here. How about letting paid customers with paid support contracts enter the forum? At the very least you could give us access to the documentation aka: "technical training material" for your product.

Mick.

PS: Please feel free not to count this as one of the requisite 50 posts.

No, the forums are separate from the technical support contract. That gives you access to our technical support ticket system.

All technical documents are located at http://wiki.3cx.com

Hi Nick,

Thanks for the reply. I take it that the "1. Access to technical training material, allowing you to more easily troubleshoot issues." quoted by myself and others above and since removed from the original head post doesn't exist or has been incorporated into the wiki now?

Mick.
