Hierarchical structure for extension groups

Postby sygnet » Wed Jun 30, 2010 1:04 pm

Hi

The way extensions can be grouped and dispalyed in 3CX Assistant is great for small organisations. However, as I have discovered recently with one of my clients, it is not so good for larger companies with a typical hierarchical structure. Middle managers/administrators may need rights over a number of (but not all) extension groups. Currently, the only way they can have these is to be made a member of the Management group - not necessarily desirable from the MD's point of view.

To overcome this would it be possible to add some form of hierarchical structure to the extension groups, i.e. ability to place extension groups within extension groups, giving administrators of the higher order groups rights over the groups within their group. An alternative would be to tailor the rights for individual members of the Management group, e.g. member X would have rights only over extension groups C, E and F, member Y over groups A, B and D, whilst member Z (the MD) has rights over all groups.

Many thanks
