Hi, I am new to 3CX and just trialling a setup now with a view to implementing. We will have approx 20 telephones.
Just wondering what the best practice is for setup of the IP address of each telephone on the system.
Is it best to just let the main company server dish out addresses via the Windows 2008 Server DHCP server?
Or is there any benefit in manually inputting IP address and gateway details into each phone?
I am wondering if the main windows server went down (not the 3cx machine, but the company server running DHCP and DNS) then would our telephone system also go down because of DHCP and DNS issues? And would inputting the IP addresses manually into the phones provide any additional resilience against this issue?
