Link Outbound Rules with Timing

Postby computer25 » Sat Feb 06, 2010 6:29 pm

Many of our clients are looking for a new feature to see the Outbound Rules linked to timing (Office Timing, Outside Office Timing, All Timing and maybe custom timing).
This will allow implementation of better rules to limit certain extensions call outbound "mobile / international" in certain timing - or outside office hours while allowing local calls, especially when extensions are placed in common accessible areas in the office..
Partially we know that we can disable the extension or the external calls completely. But we cannot select to allow some calls only.
This also can be useful if there are special rates for some calls in certain timing with some providers, so we can select which the outbound calls can be routed through the best provider according to time.

Moreover, we cannot use a long prefix for international calls on these extensions since this prefix is easily shown in the call log of the phone..

This is good proposition. But far better, in my opinion, to make ISA Server like "objects and polices" model. Here we have object - Outbound Rule, then we have a Policy - predefined hours. Than we can apply this policy on this object.

Very great Feature,

it would also permit to make a more Flexible Least Cost Routing SOLUTION. to allow calls to a cartain destination only in certain days/hours
