Is the incoming call coming via a VOIP provider or a PSTN line? Does this happen on an incoming, outgoing or both type of calls?

If using a VOIP provider, does the VOIP connection pass trough a firewall?

Do you have the Microsoft firewall running on the 3CX machine?

In the lines configuration have you set the PBX delivers audio or no?

What are you using as a Phone Client? Do you use the 3CX client?

In answer to your questions:

VOIP = Vonage
Firewall = SonicWall 2040
Microsoft firewall = off, Trend Micro firewall = off
PBX delivers audio = off
Phone client = Aastra i55 SIP phone

Just tried setting, PBX delivers audio = ON
In 3CX for both the extension "other options" and gateway/provider "other options".
Aastra appears to have no such switch in the firmware.
Still only have outbound audio.

Please also note that an X-Pro Softphone works with no problem on the same server as 3CX resides. X-Pro has not been running while testing 3CX but is installed to test connectivity and isolate firewall issues.

Does your 3CX box pass the builtin firewall test? Are you allowing UDP 9000-9015 from firewall to 3cx? I havent used vonage as a provider with 3cx but these are the standard voip provider ports.

Can the 55i receive internal ext to ext calls with audio OK?

You should need pbx delivers audio with the 55i as they support the standard codecs. I have several of them that work flawlessly.

Firewall test is fine.
9000-9015 are open.
Have only one 55i for testing before buying complete set for office, so we can't test int ext to ext.

If you launch wireshark on your laptop are you seeing the RTP traffic getting there?
