Outbound Rules to be more Flexible (Incr.# of Route Choice)

Postby open2 » Wed Mar 24, 2010 11:50 am

It is very often, to have more than 3 Gateway/Provider/operators for a certain destination:

for example to route GSM calls to a gsm gateway if I have 4 SIM with portech MV 370/372/374 i must create 4 different providers, so i can't route the GSM calls to the 4th sim in the System.

The Same should happen i I have more than 12 ISDN lines, so I must put 4 patton ISDN gateways and the last 4th gateway sould never be routed.

What I am asking for, could be solved in 2 ways:

1 - Increasing the Number of route Choices in the Outbound Rule page
It would be great to define an undefined number of route choices adding routes like it happens with forwarding rules and moving them up and down to select priority

2 - Enable Fall Back Rules in the Outbound Rules page
Adding a check box that allows administrators to enable this option, and then subsequentially choose another rule from a drop down list, so, If one route Fails, the call can be redirectd to another rule, making the routing more flexible.
