Outside Call via Digital Receptionist

Postby chrisneal » Wed Dec 23, 2009 2:40 pm

Would like to configure outside calling in a digital receptionist... Currently I have to create a Extension and set forward rules to get this functionality.. However, this make the extensions show up in the telephones phone directory.

Could you please describe a sample of business case for this feature?

Thanks

You can go to special menu 999 > 9 > 3 > outside number > #

Sure.. On our digital receptionist it has basic items like press 1 to use our spell by name directory, etc.. However, or Account Payable and Receivables department are at our corporate office.. So we want to just transfer to an outside call.. (i.e. Double trunk) To accomplish this today we create an extension (say 850..) That we set forward with no registration. Then in the digital assistant we map the option to that extension. It would be much easier if we could just map the option directly to the outside number (Since it's an outside the 3CX control) We also have one of our customer service functions at another company. (Again, another extension we created.)

Fully agree with Chrisneal:

In our case we have several agents available via outside lines only (on GSM phones or Skype). We want to transfer incoming calls to them via digital receptionist but there is no such key as "external number or Skype ID". It exists in extension's forwarding options, so we need to create an additional extension for each such agent and to activate for them "Forward all calls to" "an external number or SkypeID".

Why do not add an additional key "to external number or SkypeID" directly to digital receptionist's options as an alternative of creating a "virtual" extensions just for forwarding purposes?
