I am recent purchaser of the 3cx system and have come up against a couple of challenges with the paging system structure.

1. A page should not affect an active call on an extension. If I am talking with somone, the system puts that call on hold and plays the page. That is not acceptable and we have already had complaints from our customers that it is rude, not to mention very inconvienient.
2. Pages should not forward to an outside line when the extension is set to forward calls. Internal extension to extension and external calls should be sent, but not paging.
3. Having some type of support for multicasting support for devices like the Valcom VIP-201 paging server. We have a large manufacturing floor and require the use of a speaker based system. I cannot use the multicast approach to paging because the VIP-201 will not support it. Not sure how that might be done, but it sure would be nice.

1. 3CX PBX can not put call on hold doing page. Check your phone settings. You must disable auto-answering page call while in a call.

3. We do not provide specific support for specific hardware. We just operate in terms of SIP and RTP standards. If you have devices that do not support multicast - do not use multicast, use just paging. Multicast is optional.

Thank you for clarifying these items, it appears that what I had been told were 3cx issues are not. Sorry for the confusion on my end regarding these.

#1 - I am reviewing my phone specific settings and will attempt to resolve the problem there.

#2 - Yes, pages call and outside line in my particular scenario. After reading your post I looked into it and this also appears to be a phone specific issue so I will address accordingly.

#3 - I am working with Valcom and believe we have a working scenario minus a few audio bugs.
