Pause and wait on Outgoing call rules

Postby leejor » Sun Jan 27, 2008 5:15 am

It would be nice to have a "P" (pause) and a "w" (wait for dialtone) option available in the prepend portion of the outbound call rules. This way you could have the PBX dial a DISA port on another PBX or a line in another city, pause (three seconds for each "P")or "W" (wait for dialtone) and then send out your dialed number using DTMF. Using something like Free World Dialup numbers, you could link to another 3CX PBX or a gateway like a Sipura SPA-3000 in another location without having to dial or even know the FWD number and have your call sent out to the PSTN at that location.

I think that's a phone function, not a function for the PBX.

I may not have explained it correctly. The prepend would also include an outgoing number then the pause(or wait for dialtone). For example, you have a couple of SPA-3000's set up in other cities that have Free World Dialup numbers with access to dialtone in those cities. The area code in one city is 201, for example, so you want all calls beginning with 201 to go out on a FWD voip trunk. You dial 7+2015551212 and set it to go out on a that trunk , you remove the 7 and prepend with something like 555555 (the FWD number of the SPA-3000) and the add "PP" (giving a 6 second pause before sending the rest of the number (2015551212) out as DTMF. It could be set up to just as easily dial an 800 number (long distance service)and then pause before inserting a PIN and then the dialed number. It could be used to dial into a DISA port (direct in dial port) of another PBX to access locals or features as if you were dialing from within that PBX. All the dialing to get out on the trunk, insert a PIN etc would be invisible to the caller, they just dial a number and all the rest would be taken care of by the board.
