Problem with Voip auth - identification port

Postby maxita » Wed Feb 02, 2011 6:27 pm

Hello, i have a problem with a particular Voip provider named Noverca. For identify his customers it use the username and username_phone1 string instead the voip number for the identification port. This is the working configuration with the 3cx soft phone:

In the 3cx pbx i have to config this provider, but when i enter in the config as "external numer" and "identification port" form i can't insert virgho_phone1 because just numbers are allowed for the system. So i get an error and i can't set up it correctly. I have try to find some config file where edit the number but nothing. I think this is just the problem of the missing authentication.

Comparing the 2 config there is some way for fix this problem?

Thanks and regards

Due to the lack of "activity" with regards to this sort of problem, I have to assume that the vast majority of VoIP providers only use a numeric value as the customers number. If none of the 3CX trunks templates allow a non-numeric entry in that field then...you could try asking your provider to supply you with a numeric user name, or failing that, submit a suggestion to the feature request site http://3cx.ideascale.com/.

Perhaps a trunk template for Noverca.com, allowing alpha characters to be used, could be included in a future 3CX release.

Just FYI

I think you could have got around it in future. You could set up the number in the voip provider settings as you show in the diagram and then go to the outbound tab on the provider and change the value to the fixed value for that field (sorry i am not at a 3cx console at the moment to be able to tell you which sip field to change).
