Rewrite IB Caller-ID Names being displayed on IP Phones

Postby jomar1 » Tue Jun 29, 2010 8:58 pm

Hello,

We would like to have the system be capable of rewriting the Caller-ID name using data stored in the Company Phonebook.

Example:

I call in using my cell phone. My cell phone number (215-555-1212) is listed in the Company phonebook as "Rob Schaefer".

Currently: IP Phone displays "Wireless Caller <2155551212>"
Requested: IP Phone displays "Rob Schaefer <2155551212>"

Note: We discussed this with Kevin, Nick, and Brian in NY.

Please let me know if we can be of any assistance.

Thanks!

-Rob

The problem with this is that it is very limited. If you had Ian Joyce <8888647786> in your phone book, and I decided to call you for something, you might answer the phone "Hey Ian, man what a great party that was last night, too bad you had a hangover and called in sick" and then I would say "uhhhh...yeah...this isn't Ian".

Just food for thought there.

Haha. I would (and did) put in "888-VoIP-Store" for your 800# in our phone system. :-)
