Ring Group with SIP ID

Postby mbellot » Sat Sep 20, 2008 4:28 am

Hopefully I'm just missing something obvious here...

Is it possible to assign a SIP ID to a Ring Group?

For example, I have extensions 100-105 set up as ring group "All phones", virtual extension 200, strategy is set to "Ring All".

Is there a way to assign a SIP ID "all@mydomain.com" that points to virtual extension 200 for incoming SIP calls, which in turn rings all registered phones in the 100-105 group?

Thanks!

You are going to need to use an intermediate extension as you cannot assign a SIP ID directly to the ring group.

So, create an extension that is set to forward all calls to the ring group. Assign the SIP ID to this new extension and I believe you will have the behavior you want.
