Run a batch script

Postby comresource » Thu Nov 05, 2009 5:14 pm

Is it possible to initiate running a simple batch script from the VAD, either .cmd or .vbs. What I am looking at is the ability for an systems administrator to call in, authenticate and initate a process like a server reboot, service restart, initiate a backup or basically anything that can be done from a script? If so would this require the full version?

This can be done using an external code execution component. That component is available in paid versions only. You will need to create a .NET component that launches the script. This will be definitely considered to be added as a new standard component in future versions, so it can be easier to launch scripts from a VAD callflow.

Thanks. This would open up an infinite number of possiblities for network administration.

If you end up getting the registered version that allows you to do external code calls, I will build you a .dll file you can use to make an command line call real easy from the call flow.
