But I have found Broadsoft's documentation on it and am going to investigate this question deeper. No promises, but if we found it worthwhile - we could implement it.

Thanks for your "no promises" investigation. Call it a bounty if you will, but if you support the SPA 900 Series Shared Line Appearance, I'll be buying a licence :)

(I know, that doesn't make it official - and I saw those references before posting yesterday, but didn't bother including them as they add little information).

No, this RFC is a completely different story. I've read it also. But it is about conferencing, not SLA.

We are thinking of replacing our PBX (ISDN) with 3cx. But I can't find an answer on following:
We'd like to programm Led keys (fkey) for line indication instead of extension.
Led flashing incoming call, pick-up call by pressing key. Key on all other phones light up (red)
By pressing again place line on hold(key blinks), pick call by pressing blinking (same) key on another phone.

The info I found till now is that SLA must supported by phone AND 3cx. Snom 360 supports SLA. 3CX????????

We want to use 4+4 8 incoming lines. 2x ISDN2 in group = 4 lines 1 phonenumber and 4 SIP lines.
This results in 8 key programming for line indication.
Remaining 8 keys will partly be BLF for extensions.

Also provisioning is something we want to use to manage phones centraly.

Provisoning templates are editable. Is there a manual of how to cerate templates especially for above mentioned SLA and call pickup?

All info is welcome,
Hans

SLA is implemented and is available in latest releases. But we do not announce it because documentation is not ready yet, and it is not trivial to set up.
Re SLA for external line: theoretically, it should work. But I haven't found any phone able to subscribe for SLA monitoring of external line, so it is not tested yet.

When 3cx is handling lines, it isn't only external anymore I would think.
Can you send me info how to set SLA ? Preferably by auto provisioning of snom 360 phones.
We are going to buy 2 of them to start test setup.

It is much more convenient to use BLF with Snom. It is well documented and provides more functionality than SLA.

I created a solution to this problem, but it is not fully SLA. In my opinion it is better because it uses less phone buttons. It is a SIP windows service that registers 6 extensions with 3CX, which is how many buttons I have on the right side of my snom 320. When a registered extension of the service receives a call that is not internal it picks it up and puts it on hold. When an internal extension calls into a registered extension it drops the current internal call and forwards the call holding to the extension that just called it.

It works well because you get BLF for the calls that are on hold; calls can be put on hold by transferring and it is a one button press to pickup the call.

Here is how it works. When someone is on a call that they want to "BLF Hold" they simply transfer the call to one of the services registered extensions. The destination extension knows it is an outside call and immediately picks it up and puts it on hold. Since it is an extension it is easily monitored on the phone and can also be seen in the Assistant.

When someone wants to pickup the call they simply press the BLF button for that extension or call that extension manually. Upon receiving the internal call the destination service extension then hangs up the internal call and forwards the call that it has on hold. Simple and effective.

It took me 6 days to write and test this program and it was worked flawlessly, since I put it into production.

I found a good work around for this option.
1- Create a general call que.
2- put add all extensions as member.
3- Create BLF for extension of this general call que
4- Set polling strategy to ring all
You now can transfer call to (all) other phones easily by transfering to extension of this general call que.
Pick up call on other phone by pushing line key.

If you want to transfer call to 1 other extension often, do also following.
1- create call que for each extension neccessary. (keep it logical: ext. 10x-> call que ext.15x etc)
only member is extension 10x
2- destination of call que (15*) extension of phone: 10x
3- create forwarding rules for extension 10x,
rule type: phone busy
call type: internal call only
action: forward to que 15x
4- create BLF for extension of phone 10x
This way you can transfer call to specific extension by pressing according BLF key, even when its busy.

If everyone is a member of the queue, then all the phones will be ringing anyway, so whats the point of adding the BLF since their phones will already be ringing from the queue call?

As Archie mentioned above, it's not ready yet. It will most probably be implemented in V9, along with the documentation.
In any case, when it's going to be ready, you will know.

Oh, I thought he meant that the feature is already in the "latest releases" (v8.0.10824.716 i suppose?), and that it just isn't announced because the documentation is not ready yet... in which case, any hint of how to configure it would be welcome.

This is the first software PBX i'm setting up... is parking orbit the best way to simulate SLA in the meantime? Is it possible to map a BLF to a parking lot, or somehow make parking/unparking a button-press away? Having to hit the right arrow key, select, "bxfer" and dialing *00 then hitting Dial is a bit tedious. We use Cisco SPA504/508/509 phones.

thanks

I know that this thread is quite old, but I received a few PMs regarding my post about implementing a "BLF Hold" button.

I updated my program to use a royalty free SIP dll. I have not purchased the SIP dll yet because I don't really need it since I already paid for the one I am currently using. If enough people were interested in implementing this style of Call Handling then it would make sense to purchase it and spread the cost between those interested parties. Since it is royalty free you can install it as many times as you would like.

If you would like to try it out I have posted to the link below. It will only work for 30 days, that is the limitation of the third party DLL.
