Also note that you wont need 8 shared parking spots as the only time someone uses a slot is when they are on hold. When the call gets passed to you extension then that slot becomes free to park again.

Right but a lot of people would be using the parking feature.
A customer may be on hold for John.
Jim may put one of our stores on hold to run to bobs office
to show him an error that's being reported stuff like that.

When you use the hold feature on your phone it doesn't take one of those slots up either.

Well I meant shared park for john...
But I get it.

We were initially confused when shopping for phones when we saw "4 Line" "8 Line" and "12 Line"

But I was thinking of how our old system works...
So to save costs we can go with a "4 Line" and we should be fine, because those 4 lines could be 4 sp slots if we choose and its not directly relevant to the amount of physical phone lines that we have.

You've cleared a lot of stuff up for me, and I really appreciate all your help here.

We did a test run today when everyone was out:
hooked up our incoming hunt group to the gateway, everything worked great, auto attendant picked up, went to our receptionist's extension after the initial message... just like we have now.
Hunting is handled by our phone company so everything just really worked well... better than I even thought.

I've never ever messed around with any type of VOIP at all, never would of thought I'd actually be able to get a system up and working... 3CX has exceeded all of my expectations, and the simplicity is just amazing once you start getting familiar with all this stuff, and the auto provisioning is going to save so much time when we move forward and have to deploy 50 phones in this office.

Thank you again for all your help.
