Please pardon my previous post bluefox8080.

Yes, after looking at your point further I yield to the use of outboud rules as opposed to creating more development work (i.e. create a table for the admin to enter codes and have the rule created by the system in the background).

Ok, so all that's left is the view/print reports of calls made via individual rules, for billing purposes.

Any chance for 3CX Call Reporter providing report per rules usage?

Hi guys,

All a dialing code should be is a tables with random numbers matched with a name (the name been the person \ employee responsible for calls made using the assigned number) and a rules to determine when the code is required. Typically the rule is applied when a call is placed outside your local area.

I personally am eagerly waiting for this feature. We have a client with about 10 locations in three countries that I would love to upgrade.

I think 3CX should step in and post their thought or plans on this feature as this post has been lingering around for a long time under two different posts

Thanks

We have the capability of producing something like this for sites with Cisco handsets using the services menu. We have recently created a hot desking logon/logg feature that accepts variable keystrokes as it prompts the user.

Once again, as we all know after reading through this thread the only current practical/semi practical way of achieving this with 3Cx is by setting up outbound rules (maybe a compromise here is that you give groups of users pin codes for international dialling for ease of administration, then rely on call reporting instead) so you would still do this to begin with.

then, we could create a services menu option to prompt the user for their international pin code before dialing and prefix it on the outbound call. this could be a way of avoiding the redial scenario (so could logging off on the phone also, which could be made the responsibility of the phone user)

Regardless, having this feature built-in to 3CX would be easier, of course as the above scenario would only be limited to Cisco phone users.

The Snom phones does have a function to use PIN codes to unlock & unlock the phone.
Once the user start using the phone in the morning he uses his pin. When he leaves he locks the phone.

However, one user can then not use someone else's phone by using he personal code. This is really a shortcoming.

When 3CX does implement PIN code dialling. The owner of the PIN code should be shown within the reports. To have only the extension calling from in the reports will not be sufficient.

I agree with the PIN code feature. This will allow employees to dial from eny extension in the office, but only using his/her own PIN code. The reporting should then also be scalable to search for all numbers dialed using specific PIN code.

any progress on this?

we run a small outbound callcentre, making outbound calls for hundreds of different companies - we need a "enforce PIN" option for each user so that no outbound calls can be made without first entering an PIN code that is unique to the client/job - we then need basic reporting that will show total number of calls per PIN with total call duration.

can this be done?

I have an ageing Avaya PBX that I'm desperate to upgrade...

At Communicasia this year this was the MOST requested feature by visitors to the 3CX stand. In first world countries like through Europe & the USA I can see this as being dismissed slightly as a nice to have. In underdeveloped countries controlling the amount of phone usage by specific staff or by trunk is seen as critical as even voip services are seen as a considerable expense + they generally cost more from the lack of competition.

PIN numbers on external calls.
Timers on how long an external call can go for.
