User Pin codes

I get a request from users now and again about dialling pin codes.

I other words: You dial the number and then the PBX asks you, "please ender your pin number". After inserting the pin correct number, the call gets connected.
This pin number could the either be you voice mail pin number or any other pin number set by the administrator.

Hello sir

Certainly the need for such a feature has been expressed in the past. We will look into this. For now if you need a method to limit users from making outbound calls (because pins are usually for outbound calls due to cost - internal calls don't see a reason why to limit them) you limit them down by specify which extension are allowed to make outbound calls on an outbound rule.

Hi Costas,
The PIN is not really there to limit anyone from calling at all, but rather to prevent someone to phone outbound calls on a diferent phone and claiming the the call was not made by them.
This is for accounting purposes to see who is responsible for the most calls and costs.

We do use outbound rules at the moment, but if you press the redial button on the phone, you can see the PIN.

Do you refer to Billing code?

How does that work?
Can you only have one code?

I seems only people in South Africa needs this feature?
Maybe it is because it is so expensive to call in this country ;-)

... Expensive in Lesotho too. I still believe that a pin per user is critical for SMB, even NGO like ourselves.
