I have a VAD application that looks at the inbound caller ID and routes the call to one of two ring groups. Unfortunately our client wants a "live answer" experience for their customers. When the VAD transfers the call to one of the ring groups the customer hears on-hold music rather than ringing.
I considered one half-baked work around which would be to send the caller to a queue and have the on-hold music be a recording of a phone ringing -- but there must be a better way... Ideas?

From the VAD side, there is no much more to do. When you transfer the call you lose the control of the audio played back to the user.
The music on hold is played by 3CX while the call is being transferred and before it has been answered, so you need to answer the call faster, and that's what does the queue. I don't see a better solution...
