We could not achieve anything other than QCIF (176x144) in our testing (across the LAN). Perhaps you can tell us HOW to configure 3CX Softphone with common garden webcams (not even HD), so we can achieve transmitted H263 CIF & 4CIF resolutions? :?:

Hi

I don't have any other SIP phone supporting 4CIF, so you will have to use two 3CXPhones.
In both phones, open the account configuration dialog, then click the Advanced Settings button. In the advanced settings dialog, using up/down buttons, move the 704x576 resolution on top. Click OK, again OK. Then, from the main menu, click Debug to open debug window. Make a call to the other 3CXPhone and take a look at debug traces - you should see what video resolution has been chosen. Tell me if something is not going as expected.

Dear Vali, u r right this setting make better resolution but not give satisfied professional result. Video result of other side is like early 90s video formats. Now this is HD decay. 3CX softphone video results is very bad. now days all available softphones has automatic detect best video resolutions and gives best results. I have tired with 3cx softphone video testings but not still found any good solution. even I did X settings too. plz let me know 3cx soft phone 6 support HD video or not ?

less then 1000 resolution is Past. now we require > 1000 resolution video formats but 3CX SoftPhone has maximum support 704*576 resolution of video. Please enhance video transmission quality and auto detect highest best quality videos features.

It's getting silly now, have existing 3CX customers asking for basic video conferencing and having to sell them 3rd party solutions (like Vidyo routers).

If 3CX doesn't address this need, these 3rd party solutions are going to start to compete with the VOICE conferencing provided in 3CX.

Sure solutions like Vidyo are hardware box based, but they do offer many features found already in 3CX and the Video Conferencing market is growing rapidly in my area.

When will we see some basic improvements in this area :?: I do understand this is a free app, but I have paying 3CX customers who want this functionality NOW!

Yes, fully agree. Currently I have to sell third-party video solutions also...

Hi Vali, Any new versions of 3CXPhone for Windows in the pipeline? Or more specifically any chance of basic video improvements with next version?

I have 3CX sites now wanting all rooms to have basic video calls with retail HD Webcams and to fill the need we are having to deploy Skype. Then they ask why bother with 3CX as they have 'skypephones' at home. I'm having to defend openness of SIP vs Skype, but generally the customer doesn't care- they just want a solution for their business now which MUST include basic video.

I am sure my 3CX customers could be kept loyal and happy with some very basic improvements to 3CX Phone- if it would only support at least 4CIF (704x576) resolutions while maintaining aspect ratio in a floating window, rather than a postage stamp or a stretched ugly unusable full screen mode, we might have a better chance of keeping Skype at bay. What to do?

Anyone else had any better luck with making 3CX Phone to 3CX Phone video calls via garden variety webcams - I mean calls which are actually feasible, rather than just novel (well it was novel... 8 years ago !!)?

I think the best way is to make a detachable video windows, and will support all of the camera configuration.
