VOXITAS / Netlogic

Postby Andy Schmidt » Fri May 23, 2008 11:27 pm

Voxitas (they host the Linksys One for CISCO) is a major U.S. player with a good distribution of local POPs and attractive small business rates.

Their installation support for 3CX was excellent (they had 3CX installed and walked me through the screens).
Porting an 800 number took 2 weeks, a local number 3 weeks (which of course is controlled by your old provider).

3CX configuration was straight forward as a "generic trunk".

The only difficulties I encountered were 3CX bugs that are not specific to any provider:
a) registration bug when STUN is disabled in the 3CX general settings.
b) registration bug when the same authID happens to have been assigned by more than one or even the same provider (obviously, if your business name is unique, like "Anamera", you can guess what ID every provider will naturally set up!). Voxitas can work around this 3CX bug either by setting up unique UserIDs per line or by setting you up with IP-based authentication.
c) various 3CX bugs in the Generic Trunk screens where information is not saved (easy to get around by going back in after creating the provider/link and then editing the unsaved fields)

Andy Schmidt

Vono (http://www.vono.net.br) in Brazil works very well. The configuration was made with a Generic VoIP Provider template and the only trick was to set the Outbound Proxy in the format of IP address instead of hostname, otherwise it wouldn't make calls. Apart from that, no other changes were needed.

We are using DigiVoice (http://www.digivoice.com.ar) in Argentina configured as a Generic VOIP provider, with default configuration.

Currently, I am only using the 3CX VoIP Client to connect directly to VoIP service providers (not via PBX).

The 3CX Client is working good for me with the following VSP's:
CallCentric
Voip.ms
Les.net

However, I cannot get 3CX client to work with InPhonex.
When putting the question to InPhonex CS, their only response was: "did you configure it properly".
That is typical of the CS I get from InPhonex.

Can someone recommend a US VOIP that's very inexpensive and easy to setup with 3CX. I'm just trying to test the features.

Thanks

Hi,

I know that 3CX has "certified" U.S. providers that you probably should try first. This way the setup should be easy.

When I was testing 3CX, I set up outbound calls through idv.net for experimenting (because they didn't require a contract, I just signed up online and was running the same afternoon). I can help you with their settings if you like.

Once I completed testing and had gained confidence in the technology I moved most of my phone lines over to Voxitas with an annual contract. So far their pre and post-sales support has been stellar. Again, I'll be happy to share my settings with you.

Best Regards,
Andy

Thanks Andy. I just tried Callcentric, but can't seem to get it to register. The softphone works fine though on the same network as the 3CX PBX, which is the 6 RC1.

Callcentric doesn't register

Postby Andy Schmidt » Wed Jun 11, 2008 2:42 am

Well, the 3CX staff keeps telling me that I should be using their recommended providers because they'll work out of the box. The provider you picked is on their list:
http://www.3cx.com/partners/voip-providers.html

Usually, registration problems can be easily identified by looking at the server logs and posting it in a message on this board. Once we can see what your INVITE request looks like and what response your provider returned, people on this forum should be able to narrow down the cause.

However, I strongly suggest you don't use THIS topic (it's for WORKING configurations and might be overlooked) and start a NEW topic instead.
Best Regards,
Andy Schmidt

Have you tried to configure the PBX with VOIP.MS

I got Broadvoice working. I had to have my Broadvoice account setup for "software", not the standard setup... And then it worked like a charm.
