How to configure Htek UC8 and UC9 Series
Step 1: Identify your exact Htek UC8 and UC9 phone model and MAC address
Be sure you follow the steps for the right phone model. You can find the model and MAC address on the label at the back of the handset, or by pressing the “Menu or OK > Status” on the phone. Take a note of the MAC address, you will need this for the configuration.
Step 2: Factory Reset the IP Phone
Htek UC Phones that have an ‘X’ button
- Press “*”, “*”, “*” and “x” button and hold it for 10 seconds.
- Release the “x” key button.
- After restarting, your phone will be successfully reset.
Htek UC Phones without an ‘X’ button
- Press “#”, “#”, “#”, then press and hold “*” for 10 seconds.
- Release the “*” key button.
- After restarting, your phone will be successfully reset.
Step 3: Login to the Admin Console
- Login to your 3CX Web Client and go to “Admin”.
- Select the “User” for which you want to add a phone and go to the “IP Phone” tab.
- Click “Configure a phone”.
Step 4: Configure your HTEK IP phone
You need to know if 3CX is in the cloud or not. If you have 3CX hosted by 3CX or you have 3CX FREE or 3CX SMB, then your 3CX is in the cloud.
3CX is in the cloud
You will need to have at least one router phone on your network or an SBC configured. See a list of router phones here or follow this guide on How to install an SBC.
- Choose your HTEK model from the drop-down menu.
- Enter the phone’s MAC address and click “Add phone”.
- Specify your SBC or router phone. If this is the first phone in your network
- Connect the phone to the network within 14 days.
- If it is already connected, restart it.
- The phone will be configured automatically.
3CX is on premise
- Select where your phone will be located.
- Outside the office (Remote)
- In the office (Local)
- Choose your HTEK model from the drop-down menu.
- Enter the phone’s MAC address and click “Add phone”.
- If you selected “Outside the office” specify the router phone or SBC.
- Connect the phone to the network within 14 days. If it is already connected, restart it.
- The phone will be configured automatically.
