Configuring 3CXPhone for iPhone
Configuration of 3CXPhone for iPhone for 3CX Phone System
Important: The following configuration steps were made for Version 1.0.18. Please note that other versions may have a different user interface and different functionalities. The following configuration steps apply to a not pre-installed soft phone. In case of doubt and to avoid difficulties restore factory settings before configuration.
You must make sure that you proceed with all the steps below.
1. Installation of 3CXPhone for iPhone
- Start up App Store.
- Search for “3CX” and choose the product below the above-displayed logo.

-
Confirm installation of 3CXPhone for iPhone.
2. Provisioning
After installation of 3CXPhone for iPhone, you will now find a new symbol on your home screen with the name “Phone”.
- Start the application.
- At the first start, 3CXPhone for iPhone will ask if you would like to proceed with a manual configuration or if you would like to use provisioning. If you use 3CX Phone System Version 9, please use the option 'automatic provisioning'.
(Note: You have to be via WiFi in the same network as the 3CX Phone System, as external provisioning is not possible)
.

- Administrator Information: You need to change 2 Registry Keys on the 3CX Phone
System Host. Open the Windows Registry Editor (start-run-regedit-ok) and navigate to the following position:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
and insert the following two values (Dword):
- EnableMulticastForwarding = 1 (most of the time shown with the value 0)
- ForwardBroadcasts = 1 (this has to be added)
-
After selecting “Auto Provision”, the telephone will send a broadcast through the network. Change to the mng console of the 3CX Phone System into the node “Phones” or contact your administrator. Below the tab “Phones” you will find now in written in bold “3CXPhone for iPhone”.

- Select the appliance as per right mouse click and select if you would like to add a new extension or adding to a previous extension. It is possible to use on one extension a desk phone together with 3CXPhone for iPhone.
- The configuration of the desk phone will not be affected. After adding a new extension or adding to a previous extension the 3CX Phone System will send the configuration directly to the iPhone Smartphone. Please confirm the settings and the telephone will register on the telephone system as an extension.
