Trinity Council 5467 is the local Knights of Colombus council serving Bethany and Woodbridge, Connecticut. The council is a non-profit that works closely with Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, which is also located in Woodbridge. Trinity Council operates with the goal of enriching the lives of community members by adhering to its core principles of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism.
The Council currently has 80 members. But because the Knights of Colombus is a non-profit organization without full-time employees and limited financial resources, the group required a low-cost, easy to manage and professional telecoms solution to help connect members, the group’s leadership and the community at large.
Bob Kane, Communications Director and Past Grand Knight, explained the technology issues that Trinity Council needed to address when shopping for their telecoms solution.
“Ease of setup, maintenance and reliability were all requirements since everyone managing the infrastructure volunteers their time to do so. Smartphone support was also critical, since everyone in the organization is virtual and does not reside in a central office.”
Because of the limited resources available to Trinity Council 5467, it was imperative that the group found a telecoms solution that would make installation as simple as possible. After considering working with Asterisk, Kane realized that their solutions would require more integration than they could manage themselves. Meanwhile, hosted phone systems proved too costly.
Once Trinity Council selected 3CX, their telecoms system was installed and deployed within just a few hours, empowering the members to conduct their business without missing a beat.
Professional and Convenient Solutions Without Straining Budgets
Deployment was done by 3CX Gold Partner 7G Technologies. Upon deployment, Trinity Council’s Cisco IP phone and its’ members PCs and smartphones were seamlessly integrated to provide convenient communications. Because 3CX’s solutions operates on popular platforms no additional training or IT support was required for Trinity Council members.
Though Trinity Council selected a cost-effective solution, they still benefited from professional-grade system features such as digital receptionists, multiple extensions and granular personalization. Council members have enjoyed the benefit of streamlined remote communications. In addition, the group was also able to reduce the amount of time required to maintain and manage their system, which was vital for an organization with no IT personnel of their own.
Bob Kane explained further that 3CX provided a customized solution tailored to meet the exact needs of the Trinity Council.
“Supporting an IP infrastructure was paramount since all our members are remote and there is no central “office” per se. We also needed a system that could work within the platform resources we had available to us (Windows Server). Lastly, cost was a major consideration as well since the council operates on a very tight budget and has limited capability to pay for IT and telecoms infrastructure. 3CX absolutely meets the need.”
