Essilor Benelux Has Sights Set on Communications Success in Upgrade to 3CX
For over 170 years, Essilor has put its expertise in vision improvement and protection into designing, manufacturing and distributing its products across the globe. Specializing in ophthalmic lenses and equipment for eye care professionals, Essilor is the world leader in visual health. In addition to professional equipment, the company also manufactures and distributes prescription glasses, reading glasses and sunglasses across a wide range of well known brands including Foster Grant, Varilux, Xperio, Eyezen and more. In an effort to modernize their business with a “cloud first strategy”, Essilor was looking to upgrade their phone system and bring greater mobility to its employees.
Modern, Cost-effective Communications
Essilor had worked with an Alcatel system for a number of years but a lack of flexibility had hindered the company’s attempts to increase mobility for employees when it came to voice communications. In addition to this, the system’s high costs of running and maintenance had proven to be without merit, in that it didn’t offer significant features or benefits for the price. What’s more, as Essilor’s other systems were becoming increasingly cloud focused, they decided now was the time to bring their communications up to date as well. Essilor Benelux’s Network Telecommunications Manager, Antoon Makay, began to look for a new solution that could replace their Alcatel PBX in a cost-effective way that would boost productivity and enhance mobility.
Enhanced Mobility for a Competitive Edge
After evaluating other systems, including Alcatel and Cisco, Antoon turned to 3CX for it’s flexibility and significant cost savings when compared to similar solutions on the market. Essilor found that savings on maintenance and other expenses were considerable and the ability to work with their provider of choice enabled them to take advantage of zero tariff calls. In addition, the flexibility, integration opportunities and staff mobility that the company was looking for were all addressed, with employees now enjoying the ability to work anytime, anywhere.
Antoon Makay, Network Telecommunications Manager for Essilor Benelux: “3CX is a flexible VoIP solution which gives our organization a big advantage on our competition. Our employees now have the ability to carry out location independent work, boosting productivity and increasing the possibilities when it comes to the growth of the company.”
In working with 3CX partner Kerkhoven Automatisering, Essilor Benelux was able to carry out their deployment quickly without any disruption to services. The company is now using their 3CX PBX seamlessly with 300 Yealink IP Phones and 3CX softphone apps.
