Holiday Palace Casino bets on 3CX Hosted IP PBX – Case Study
The Poipet, Cambodia-based Holiday Palace Casino and Resort is a luxury resort and casino situated in the northwest part of the country, near the border with Thailand. The resort offers deluxe rooms, a selection of Western and gourmet Asian restaurants, a spa, a gym, a duty-free shop, and elegant gaming.
Clients flock to the resort from around the world, and the hotel’s marketing department has a high international call volume. The IT staff had been using Skype Connect to manage connectivity, but costs were still too high.
Telecommunications manager Andy Wiranata wanted a less expensive and scalable solution, one which also offered mobility, push and contacts integration.
Winning with Hosted IP PBX
“A hosted virtual PBX from 3CX gives us the solution we need without the headaches of maintaining the underlying equipment ourselves. And being able to have a central phone system no matter where we are is endlessly convenient,” Wiranta said.
The hosted version of 3CX gave the resort a scalable solution which cut costs, but which provided push, directory and a full set of Unified Communications functionalities. Installation was quick and involved a minimum of down time with the help of 3CX Partner cloudphonesystem.net.
With the hosted version of the phone system, the resort was able to install 3CX on a virtual PBX server. Setup and management of virtual PBX instances can now be done via the 3CX Partner portal or via an API.The hosted PBX provides a dedicated PBX with settings and data under the control of the company, which keeps the option of eventually moving it entirely on-premise. And the company has complete freedom to work with hardware and a VoIP Provider partner of its own choice, without any vendor lock-in.
Raking in the Chips with Reduced Calling Costs
Wiranta noted the considerable savings the marketing department racked up thanks to 3CX’s least cost routing. International calls are directed to the network and PSTN paths with the lowest charges.
With 3CX, employees at the resort were also able to enjoy total mobility — and this was a critical factor for the resort, which always has technicians in the field. Calls to the worker would be sent to the single portable extension number which would ring on the softphone or smartphone client anywhere.
Mobile employees profited from Push notification that is part of 3CX VoIP phone service, which works on iOS, Android and Windows 10 phones. The smartphones ‘wake up’ when a call is received, so that users can keep their phones in sleep mode, thus saving battery life.
And, with the full set of Unified Communications features that 3CX provides right out of the box, the resort’s productivity improved sharply. Workers could instantly initiate conference calls, or web conferences on the powerful WebRTC platform. Decision making took less time as communications became seamless.
And 3CX is limitlessly scalable at no extra cost. The resort could add as many extensions as required without having to pay extra licence fees
For Wiranta, all of the resort’s objectives were attained with 3CX.
“3CX has proven to be a great success,” he added.
