Bastion Hotels, located in Utrecht, Netherlands, is a Dutch hotel chain founded in 1986 that now operates 31 hotels in The Netherlands and one hotel in Germany. Bastion Hotels are committed to providing guests with an inviting atmosphere and personable customer service. Bastion seeks to provide the comforts of home with the facilities of a five-star hotel at a price that anyone can appreciate.
But in order to meet their goals, Bastion Hotels’ Marianne van der Sterren recognized that the organization needed to make a phone system upgrade.
The head office, which serves as Bastion’s communications hub, was in need of a new phone system. Their analog PBX was costing the company roughly 100,000 Euro on an annual basis, and still had to be renewed because of their age.
That’s when Bastion decided to make the move to 3CX.
Marianne van der Sterren:
“3CX is a great hospitality PBX. All functions for all hotel sizes are available and by using the interface in combination with Property Management Systems it does everything you need at a very competitive price. It was very easy to install and maintain. The hotel phones could even stay in place, just by making use of SIP-ATA gateways.”
Easy installation with big results
In the hospitality industry, downtime doesn’t just impact your personnel. It impacts the experience of guests. As such, Bastion Hotels needed to find a company that would be able to install and deploy their new phone system without disrupting operations. Sbit Hospitality Services advised and implemented the system, and now maintains their 31 environments.
With 3CX, installation takes just a few short hours and creates no downtime. And because it operates on the most popular operating systems, users required no additional time to train either.
“Installation of the 3CX software went flawless. And changes can be done remotely, which further reduces IT labor costs,” continued van der Sterren.
Lower costs, higher productivity, happier guests
Upon deployment, 3CX took control of Bastion Hotels’ 120 Yealink SIP T46G and 31 Samsung e1200i phones for mobile use. It also took control of Bastion’s 16 lines at the head office, 12 additional hotel lines and their Grandstream SIP-ATA gateways.
In addition to drastic cost savings, Bastion Hotels has greatly increased the productivity and mobility of employees. 3CX has been able to increase collaboration between hotels and has enabled employees to stop worrying about communications challenges and spend more time making sure every guest leaves satisfied.
